A light idea!

Hey guys I hve this idea for a light! I was thinking bout putting a light under my hood that comes on when I open the hood it comes on then when i close it the light turns off! What yall think of that! It would be kewl i think!

Ok

well gezz guys thnks for not saying anything! see i found some things that might wrk, im gnna get a push pin installed that turns on the lights for under the hood

It's a good idea.

I don't know why more cars don't have this.

Maybe because manufacturers don't want to encourage people to work on their own cars, LOL

Never thought about it like that. But we really need a strong light under there.

Design a cheap kit and sell it.

Well im wrking on one where it has four lights 2 below that shines up and 2 above that shine down! i was thinking LED

Hell even do it for people that want to show off. Have them come in different colors

I might do it once I get my other little projects out of the way.

It won't be that difficult, just wire a constant 12v lead out to the plunger switch, then run the other side (switched positive) to a light housing.

One thing that might be even better, I've seen it before (factory option) but I can't remember on what, is a light housing that has a retractable cord, so that it lights up when you open the hood, but you can pull the light free and use it if you need to (like between firewall and engine, etc).

Then, when you release the light, it retracts up to the mounting point.

Come to think of it, someone could make a universal kit and sell a ton of them.

HHHMMMMMM.

(off to ebay to look at cheap 12v high intensity LED's)
