Need iPod cable with stock head unit

I used Pac Audio's vehicle application guide and chose add iPod connection to OE radio for 2006 cobalt sc.
It gave me this product link uPAC-GM11b

Has anyone used this or can verify that this will do what I want? I'm looking to just run an ipod cable to the glovebox and skip tracks on the steering wheel controls.

I'm curious about this as well. Everyone just says read the stickies or whatever but one is specific to the AVIC D3 and the other isn't very helpful.

'07+ are different, and have an aux input so you can just plug in your iPod through the headphone jack. I wouldn't do that anyways cause I'd prefer to have control through the deck/steering wheel. Anyone else?

06 doesn't have aux port or I would settle for that. I don't know jack about this kind of stuff but was messing around on the PAC website and found this and didn't see anything in the FAQ about adding an ipod connection on the stock 06 radio.

I've heard here and there that iPod control through them is sluggish, or that the best sound quality will still be with an aftermarket deck... but have never seen anything to back that up.

best sq and control will always be an aftermarket deck period. Unless you have an ipod specific cable stock which we do not. any separate module or what not is always going to be slower then control straight from the source. With that said steering wheel controls will have the same effect going aftermarket assuming you add the steering wheel interface.
