Needed opinions Sub+box

Hi everyone, Ive been thinking of what i should start planning for the trunk.

Couple of main concerns are:
trunk space, usuable trunk space, enough to through a book bag or two for a weekend trip in. And grills are cool but dont protect from things that would puncture so i usually end up have up-fireing subs

another concern is that i couldnt even fit 17inch crt monitors though my trunk openning, and through the back seat i hand to take the bases off the monitors, still a close call. im sure i can finangle a few extra inche by taking the seats out but im really looking for what are the dimensions of boxes people had hard times trying to get in the trunk. just so i can get an idea.

also sub woofers, single 12 inch or 3-4 6.5 inch speakers. errr maybe 3-4 8inch? tooo many options..... help.

thanks,
Bill

box size is limited by the opening... 31 on the top 37 on the bottom and 15 high (with seats and braket out

oh ya backwards firing will be the loudest with upward fireing a distant second and foward firing a distant third (unless certain things were done but im not getting into it).

and u can fit up to 2 15s if u do a custom box with a bit of space left

This is my current set up which as you can see is a mess.

here is a 3 year old drawing of how i want it to be. just need to do some math for the size of each individual sub box.

I wanted to keep my trunk space too cause I currently go to college. I already had my 12in kicker so this is the fiberglass box that i made and i still have plenty of space in my trunk.

Well i do build my own box's and i do know a bit about car audio, just too lazy to do trial and error, if other people have spen the effort on it, to figure out something doesnt work then why would i.

im still thinking i might want to go with a couple of diy 6.5 woofers and line the trunk parameter with one row of them yes again upward fire.

also i fire upward only so crap doesnt touch my cone. i know what it does to the sound. and no rear fill either. that ***** for the birds.

well right now im testing mids to look for a final setup. RIght now i work at a cdt dealer which might pick up hertz and audison plus one of our guys is heavily involved in DIY speakers and can build crossovers and stuff like that.

i have a **** load of equiptment but im currently running a single XXX 15 sealed off a T30001bd@ 2ohms, an 801x mids amp with a fosgate fnq 6.5 on the right and fnx tweets on both sides. On the pass door im currently testing a diy 5.25
