I'm buying a 2009 cobalt ls, and I think it comes with crank windows not power. Haven't checked it out yet.it has a stereo, but the owner said the cd didn't work, only the aux.im thinking of buying a factory cd stereo for it. And I was wondering if someone could tell me. If I do. Will it not work because I have to have a code for it? A way around that if it has to have a code, is buy an aftermarket stereo and install it. As it shouldn't have to be coded.im looking forward to being a part of the forum for my troubleshooting issues, am also thinking a Haynes manual would be a good investment.

First, welcome!

Aftermarket radio is better. If you get a stock radio, you need to take it to a dealership and have them flash it since the radios are VIN locked. Aftermarket, you get your choice of designs and functions, and most importantly: bluetooth.
A Haynes manual is good for references, but if you do a search of this site (use google) you can find a lot of what you're looking for as well.

I had an Alpine touch screen in my 05 SS. The factory sub worked and all. I also ran 2/12 subs and aftermarket speakers in my 08 LT using the factory radio and it sounded excellent. In all honesty I would have a professional do it. You have to pay a little bit more, but usually like through Best Buy or car toys they offer free install with a certain amount spent.
