Cobras are getting better, but they still spill false K-band and set off the good detectors. I wouldn't buy one.

Look into getting a V1 or a Escort/Beltronics/Whistler.

I would recommend the Escort brand.
I personally have an Escort Passport Max in my car, but I ran the Passport 9500IX for the longest time. The Max is the replacement for the 9500IX but by no means is the 9500IX outdated, it performs exceptionally well and with the built in GPS it actually learns where a false alarm is and removes it so it never gives you a false reading again.
I still have the 9500IX actually its just in my GFs car now since I run the Max. If you can afford the Max buy it its worth every penny, but if your a little strapped for cash go for the 9500IX

When I was a pizza guy, my radar detector prevented me getting 12 speeding tickets in one year that I was aware of, which means I actually saw an officer with a radar. How many can you imagine that I didn't see, but slowed down anyway? Do you know how much money 12 speeding tickets would be? About $2000-2500 in the place I was at.

$300 is nothing when you save $2000 on tickets.

Take what you just said and replace "speeding ticket" with "tip"

You probably should have written a letter to get that reduced.

I wouldn't stand for that. 1% calibration error and it's a false reading.

It's not the best as far as performance but better than any Cobra or what ever brand you can buy at Walmart or Best Buy. We actually carry them in my store and they sell pretty well. The customers I've talked to all seem to like them except for the false alarms, that is why i recommended the 9500 or Max because they eliminate them. If your going to spend the money get the Pro 300 don't buy anything to cheap, remember you get what you pay for.

I shouldn't have but whatever. That was in my Nova. I could easily get out of that ticket with my G5.

I also have the 9500IX radar and I highly recommend it!

I was late going to work one morning, going 85 in 65, and because the radar emits distinct beeps for varies bands, I was aware of a copy hiding under a bridge, probably a little over a mile down the road.
