Radio cutting out

So last night, out of no where, I get in my car to head home and my radio cuts out. Like literally shuts down like its lost power from the battery. But nothing else went off, just the radio. I push on the front plate to see if maybe I had accidentally bumped it and the face wasnt completely on. The radio lights up then goes right back off. After about 15 seconds of messing with it, it comes back on, but all my presets and eq settings and time are gone. It stays on for a few minutes, then does it again. Get it turned on again and it stays on and fine for the rest of the drive home.

Fast forward to today, it works fine all morning, then I get in the car to pick up my son from school and it does it again. But this time when I turn it on, nothing is lost.

So Im at a bit of a loss. Sometimes its acting like its loosing power, other times its just acting weird. I havent taken it out yet but I think I will tonight and see if I can see anything wrong. Im also wondering real quick if anyone knows if I can flip the aftermarket radio surround and cubby hole thing over so the cubby is on top and the radio is on bottom? I noticed last night that after I installed the RCA cables for an amp that it didnt sit all the way flush since there was a bar behind the radio on the top of the opening. Also, should I disconnect the RCA cables? I've never heard of anyone saying that you have to, but I've never done and left them connected, and I dont want to **** anything up.

How do you take the bar out from behind the radio? Just cut it?
