Remote Starter Question
good luck with that one.I tried installing the same one.I couldnt get it to program for the life of me.I dont know if the modual was burnt out or what, but it didnt work. After i tried programing it,the remote start would work once and stop working till i programed it again. So i gave up and used the one i mentioned above and it worked on the first shot.
damn......well ill try it and if it stops working ill get teh one you mentioned.....if the bypass that i got stops the car will still and all that right? just the remote start wont?
Yeah, they'll tell you.The problem i had with mine was the little red led would not turn off,and it wouldnt read the proper resistance for the car to remote start.I should bring it back to the place i bought it from and get it exchanged and throw it on ebay or something.
damn, just my luck....hopefully it works......how hard would the bypass be to install by myself. like if this one ***** up and i get the one you posted? how hard is that to put on?
Its not hard at all.I had mine hooked up within a few minutes.I dont know your skill level, but if you have never done this kind of work before,it will take u a little bit longer.Just follow the instructions, its pretty straight foward.
On eBay you can get the iDatalink module for super cheap... it's something like a 4 or 5 wire hook up, and it bypasses the factory alarm, interfaces with your door locks and trunk, as well as the starting system. It is made by a sister company of Compustar, so it's very very compatible with their systems!
Yeah, dont **** it up,lol. If you have never installed an alarm,i wouldnt touch it if i were you.If your having your boy install it and he knows what hes doing, then he shouldnt have a problem with it.
You should have the alarm mounted under the seat.Makes for a cleaner install.

wait a minute our car comes stock with some type of sound dampening under the seats? thats badass (check in the back next to the battery and theres another piece that on my was barely even on the car)
Im pretty sure most cars do.If they didnt, there would be alot of road noise in the car.
should it come with detailed instructions? i should be able to handle detailed instructions.
just got it and im pretty sure im gonna get it professionally installed.

Yeah, the alarm will come with detailed instructions. But it doesnt come with detailed instructions for the car, like the wiring diagrams.I wouldnt mess with it if i were you.You probe the wrong wire by accident, you can burn something out or deploy the airbags. The starter hookup is tricky with these cars.Theres no starter wire to tap into. When the car senses the ignition wire power up and drop 12 volts,it automatically starts the car.Your gonna have to wire up a relay to do this, cause the alarm isnt made to do it on its own.Get it professionally installed. If you were in ny,i coulda hooked it up for you.
A hundred bucks aint bad at all.
Go to radio shack and buy a 1.5k ohm resister.Your gonna need it for the door locks to work. You need the resistor cause the car only has 1 wire that controls the lock and unlocking of the doors.
