Reverse Lights Wire
I am looking to tap into the wire which goes to the reverse lights.
Does anyone know where I can find it. It needs to be an easilyy accessible location and near the front part of the car (i.e. the driver and front passenger seating areas) or preferably in the roof/headliner. Thanks in advance.

I need the signal from it to control something (turn something off) when the car is shifted into reverse, so it will not be drawing much current at all (so I don't need to worry about overloading the circuit).
I was hoping to avoid this. I figured that there must be a wire somewhere between the ECM and the trunk, so I was hoping someone on here knew where it was and could quickly identify its location for me. If not, that is probably the only option I have!
ya i couldve sworn that i had to do something with that wiring. thats y i know that ha. but i forget what it was. but im almost positive thats where it is. let us know man.

look up the alarm info for your yr balt and it might tell you an exact location for it. if i remember correctly mine was green white but i just tapped it at the trunk. lol i have it running to the radio but dont have a back up cam
Pulled my seats out and took a bunch of panels off the car tonight. You were both right. The main wiring harness runs right along the left side of the driver side front seat. I checked the wire going into the reverse lights and it is a light green color. Only problem I have now is I noticed there are a couple light green colored wires in the harness...the shades are just slightly off from one another and it is difficult to tell which one is the right shade of light green! I'll have to test one to figure it out. Thanks again for the help!!
oh ya fyi we had a customer who was trying to tap the ebrake wire and out of the few he had he just guessed. turns out whatever he did was wrong and his door locks stopped working.
just be careful make sure to test it that its actually reverse. if you have a meter with long cords continuity test is always good

yea, to be honest, easiest way to check is to probe that wire that you think is it, ground the negative probe, and see if you get a positive trigger on the meter, that is it goes from 0 v to 12 v when you put the car in reverse. just make sure your foot doesn't slip off the brake while you're juggling all this ****.
