Just did a little researching with my buddies over at the Saab Forums.

I'm told unless you are not a extremely knowledgeable car installer, DO NOT OPEN UP THAT CAR. They said the re-wiring is a damn mess to get everything to work. There is a stock amplifier inside the car. You can't just swap head-unit and be happy. You will have to Completely make new wires to EACH AND EVERY SPEAKER.

I have been told if you wish to up the stock system, you can run from the stock amplifier to a special unit and from that unit to the aftermarket amplifier, then to your speakers. Sound like a lot of work for so little.

I've also been told that aftermarket HU's won't fit into the small area the stock HE has.

No one makes a wiring kit, because the OEM amplifier has issues if the correct watts, ect isn't what it's supposed to be receiving like the OEM HU puts out.

Sorry bro

Time to tell the fiance to buy a Saturn Ion Redline(total chick car with same set-up as Cobalt SS/SC) and you can easily add an aftermarket HU.

They are extremely easy to work on actually. I don't get why people are so afraid of foreign cars!

Aright newbie. I only warned him of the aftermarket amp not working with an aftermarket deck. It will require a lot of DIY work. But it could be done.
