I'm no genius but I'm fairly certain you cannot "blow up" a box, and also you might want to check the definition of legit if you think a box that has "blown up" 3 times is a quality box.

On a side note for interior speakers the quality varies greatly depending on how much you are wanting to spend. The high quality speakers will also need a separate 4-channel amp if you want to get everything out of em.

best subwoofers on the market are the Orion HCCA subs i have to 10's and they rock nothing beats them there is even a youtube vid of them being put against the major brands and the failing the hcca was played at its max capacity for over a hr n a half and failed due to over heating where the other played at half that time and had mechanical failures. Im only using one of the subs and selling the other they are 3k watts a piece max 1,600 rms and i have had them hooked up to hifonic 2k rms mono class d amps and they still wanted more, clear beyond all belief, but i found a web site: Onlinecarstereo.com - Shopping Cart where im goin to get my speakers from.

i agree to disagree with HCCA's being the best subs on the market lol. every high end sub has it's up's and down's so there's really no way to say what sub is the absolute best

^^ yes i kno that but from my experience with MTX and kicker i honestly haven't tried the others. My HCCA's 10's have blow the 12's i use to own right out of the box especially with the clarity of the bass hits and overall sound, plus i haven't blown one but if u do the re-coning kits are cheap and its plug and play to swap, best may have been a over statement but damn these things are gud.

Are you high? Kenwood sucks more wiener than a **** star at a gang bang, Alpine is debatable if you buy their good ****. Rockford Fosgate, Sundown, Skar, Rainbow, Audiobahn, MA(before they were bought by Jensen), JBL, Cerwin Vega, MB Quart, Memphis, JVC, JL, DC, Ascendent... those are some of the best names in car audio.

ZSTAT seems to be taking the SC/NC market by storm but I have no experience with them.

My current setup:
stock head
Rockford Fosgate Punch 6x9's
Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300.1
(2) Skar Audio MA-8
Custom 1.0^ft ported enclosure @47-50htz
Stinger 10G power/speaker wire
Stinger 9G ground

Head is faded 100% rear because stock fronts are blown but I may be able to get some of these soon: Rockford Fosgate T162C 6-1/2" Power Series 2-way Car Speakers
if i was high i'm sure i'd be bettin on some POS like dual or something. I was directly referencing the OP's statement that he was looking for a head unit. The best head units in the business are arguably kenwood and alpine.

Everything else of course as far as subwoofers, capacitors, amps, speakers, wiring is all debatable and mostly preference by user experience.

no need to become hostile, we are all sharing.

i love 10's, they are a perfect all around sub if they are boxed and powered correctly. your music could also dictate what type of sub you might want to use, by size anyway. leaning towards anything specific lately?

yea there's always good deals floatin around. crutchfield had a really good deal on the boston acoustics subs. then again if you go to the shows the vendors there always have stuff at ridiculously good prices. i got my kickers at the o.c. car show. verrry cheap and they work well enough, though an upgrade to something that can handle more power and a small amp for the mids an highs would be ideal. can't be too picky when tryna get that initial bass in there.

girls do love the bass. hehe

good choice, i have an old set of JL W0's and by old set i mean it was an old set back in 2003. lol. they built like a rock man, JL Audio are excellent, at least in my experience. but you do tend to pay through the nose for em.

Alpine Type R's are quite a staple of quality, performance and cost savings. but you can't go wrong with some W3's

I have a 12" Alpine Type-R & Alpine PDX-6 amp. 600W RMS, does the job for now. Probably upgrade the speakers and head unit this winter.

I have a ported box and hits pretty hard. I'm happy with it. Type Rs are a great sub for the price IMO.

Why a big sub? Sundown SA8's, Skar MA8's, even the new JL6w3v3's are impressive. the JL is a 150W 6 and it hits harder than a 12" Memphis(their entry level, but still).

i just was thinkin somethin better that i could power with my amp. its a monoblock 1X500watt RMS at 4 or 2 ohm. it would be cheaper to do a single good sub like a Alpine SWR 10" 4 ohm versus 2 cheaper 10's. the type R RMS is 300-600 watt an thats at 129$ on crutchfield versus tryin to get cheaper subs that hit a smaller RMS and wiring parallel.

for an idea. i got my amp (MA Audio M1900XE) powering 2 base kicker subs, (the yellow an black goes perfect with my car). i get good kick outta em. but somethin a little more solid would be nice and buyin new subs and a new amp isn't in the budget currently, i gotta pay for a wedding in the near future.
