put ground on anything metal that attches to the frame of the car. as for the dash lights, no idea. google wiring schematics and u mght be able to find something. unless someone has access to gm tech articles or someone has the schematics from elsewhere.

if i remember right its a grey wire, but i tapped into the map lights just above the roof liner, not at the bcm. its easy to find up there with a test light, only 3 wires.

always on is any ACC wire, there are lots down there, or you can use a fuse tap which will be easier.
sunroof fuse will give you RAP power as well.

if you want it on ONLY at night, you'll need to tap a wire that powers on with the ambient light sensor.

Just hook it up to a fuse and use a switch.

DONT use that 2amp fuse on the top row. its ignition but it'll blow very easily and you'll be in trouble.

Use the fuse position 4th row down, 2nd in....i think its #16....and yes I realize you dont have a fuse in that slot currently
this ones a 15amp slot and gives you RAP power (works with IGN even when the car is off until the doors are opened)

He only wants it on at night though.

OP seriously, go buy a $3 switch from autozone and just hook that up. Way easier
