I usually saw 15-16mpg...the I6 is a great engine but it sucks gas.

Congrats, but I still contend that they don't make SUVs like they used to (i.e. compact and 2-door, like my baby '92 s-10 blazer... or the tahoe of the same era, which was basically the same car with a 350 v8 slapped on mmmm good).
