Its a Canon Rebel XT with a 28-135 IS lense. Yes the camera does help but it is one of the cheapest DSLR's around.

I used what they call HDR imaging on this. Basically you take 3-5 pictures in varying exposure rates and then merge them. You then have to downgrade it from 32-bit to 8-bit and have to make sure your color and lighting are good. This was my frist attempt and it came out nice. I do agree though, the background does look a bit fake.
