I'd like to see pics of SOM SS's. My gf is considering a N/A SS and is in love with the orange. She also would like an Eclipse so I'm trying to sway her with the Cobalt - so help me out

Personally, I like the Eclipse. Sorry. lol. But I got a cobalt and am happy with it thus far. Good luck.

 

i have a friend who just got a new eclipse and he said that he loves that it has some speed but other than that its not that good of a car when it come to handeling etc... just a heads up for you

 

She won't be getting the GT, so the Eclipse would be even more uninspiring if she would get it. Not to mention that the GS is more expensive than the NA SS, and almost as much as a SC SS. I highly doubt she'll get an Eclipse, but if I had some pictures of Coblats, she'd probably not want an Eclipse.

Definitely tell your g/f to go with the Cobalt SS 2.4 over the Eclipse. The new Eclipse is trash IMO, its ugly from many angles, overly heavy for a small car, cramped inside, isn't sporty to drive, and it slow being that it weighs so much. If she's willing to spend the money to get one of those, just have her get an SS S/C in Sunburst Orange instead.

yea i read an article the other day that said the eclipses were pretty quick but as far as handling went it was like driving a 8000 pound bowling ball...

Heck, even thelast few generation Eclipses were basically the same. The base models were ok, then the top models were quick, but pricey. I mean, I've driven the '02 Style Eclipse V6's, and I've driven a few '98 style Eclipse GS-T's and GS-X's. The turbo ones are quick, but boy, is there lag. I'd say it's all just preference. figure out all the kinda cars you like, go see them in person, sit in them, drive them if you're feelin' it thus far, then get the best of the lot. That's the only way to say. There isn't just one car that everyone wants and has to have. I mean, most people love Mercedes. I drive them everyday (valet), and personally, I don't like them. I'd rather have a BMW, Lexus, something like that. Even a Cadillac...becasue I'm partial to them. But getting back on topic, she has to analyse what she wants. If she wants some crazy looking car that'll get her noticed, the Eclipse would probably be better. But I have a 2006 Cobalt SS n/a and it's a great daily driver. Sure, there's some quirks becasue it's a GM...but **** happens. That's my pennies.
