2.2 intercooler help

alright guys. as most of you know im a 2.2 l61 going turbo. have all parts pretty much figured out except the intercooler. i need to know the size of the stock one so i can find one within the dimmentions. im going cheap on it right now manly because ill barley be pussin 7 psi. once i have enough money and up the boost ill go zzp. thanks for thee help

Just pick up a stock LNF one for pennies, people are selling them here all the time. Or check out the specs on what the LNF guys upgrade to.

This... or a $30 dollar ebay for now. I ran one for 3 years and never had an issue

ide go stock LNF IC its cheap, bolts right up, and can hold some decent power

but ive found IC's for 50 on ebay and they are smaller

sorry didnt mean to be a dick. ive heard the stock lnf has very little room on a 2.2 is taht true?

How do you mean? Like the LNF intercooler won't/barely fits? Clearance behind the bumper is the same for both trim levels.

yeah someone told me it was a tight squeeze. i was asking for length because im going with a lnf hot side type pipe and it will need to be in the same area.

It would make more sense to just use a stock LNF one then. It'll fit just fine.

how tall is the stock LNF cuz i have the S3 h.e. that came with the zzp turbo kit and there are 2 inches sticking out of the bottom of the bumper cover... i just measured and the height from the actual bottom of the bumper to the bumper cover and its 5 inches. Ive seen other people get a tall IC that is mounted at the top of the bumper and hangs all the way down but them some is hidden behind the bumper. heres a pic

It's a stock cobalt intercooler....it will fit perfect, its a cobalt lol all trimlevels have the same room up front.

isnt the LNF bumper longer than the base? because i have the S3 heat exchanger and its sticking out of the bottom of my stock LS.

i just realized OP has SS front bumper so nevermind.
