I posted a quick one on youtube but the nice one is soon to come. going to take my friends 96 TA today. there are a lot of open farm roads out where he lives. with nothing but flat road for miles. he also has a turbo legacy but i already took that car stock. I'm also stuck at work right now.

Well i got some good news, and some not so good news. The good news is i can run with SRT4's. The bad news is, not past 105, lol. I stayed in front of him until 105 then he just kept going. So im pretty happy. i was just heading back home about 10 mins ago and came across a black srt4 on the freeway, so i dropped in third and flew by, and i got his attention. He then flew by me, so i cought him and we did a run from about 60. perfect spot for 3rd gear, i got the jump all the way through 4th and then i was toast when my car decided to stop accelerating. DAMN GM!!! And mind you, this is boise at 9pm, there was one other car on the freeway, and it was WAYYY back =P Gotta love open highways. but yeah, i then fell back and got off my exit with a huge smile on my face.

yeah i know, im lookin for rims/tires right now, be able to order them and coilovers once my tax return comes. im also gonna buy the link cable for the SMT-6 from john and play around with the tuning. for 100 bux i can take it to a dyno here, and get 3 runs in and a custom tune, but i'd rather do the tuning myself. i dunno how much they know about perfect power.

Gm wont do it. I even called in to see if it could be done on my personal car (when i was a GM service tech) and they said no.
Just cut the VSS wire. Dont get caught though...you just commited numerous federal offenses.

A Mustang or Hub dyno will read a little less than the industry standard dynojet.
I'm the tech that installed Duane's kit so if you have any specific questions please PM me or email me at alpinetech@alpine-developments.us. All I can say is that we were VERY impressed with how Duane's lil 'balt handled the kit. As for the CEL our Snap-on tool wasn't able to communicate with Duane's car and we ran out of time because Duane had to beat the storm to get home. Trust me though nothing is wrong with his car. If I had to guess I'd say the CEL is his secondary OBDII O2 sensor freaking out from all the exhaust gas flow that its not used to seeing. We're installing the kit on another guy's Red Cobalt so we'll see if the same thing happens on his car that has a full custom exhaust system instead of the puny OEM setup.

My Tiburon had the same code after I turbocharged it. An easy fix is to buy what is called a Spark Plug Non-Fouler. They come in various sizes so make sure you get the long 18mm one. Then install the non-fouler inbetween the 2nd O2 sensor and the exhaust pipe. What this does is limit the amount of exhaust gas flow the sensor see so that it won't trigger a CEL anymore. It's about 3 dollars from Autozone.

its because the setting was set on Zero for Smoothing, look at the top right corner of the dyno you will see Zero the higher the number the smoother the dyno chart.... no biggie i like my charts set to Zero as well...

Ok y'all. I finally got the dyno shop to email me all the graphs. I combined two of them. One is from a Normally Aspirated cobalt that had a cold air intake and full custom exhaust system. The other is Duane's 100% bone stock cobalt. I also enabled smoothing so you could see the difference. All smoothing does is make the graph prettier by smoothing out the peaks and valleys. This also tends to lower the reported max power.
