If I understand this statement correctly, you are thinking about using an ECM from a SS/SC on your LS Cobalt with an L61 engine. If that's right, it won't work.

The kit you're thinking of is for 2.4L Cavis and Sunflowers.

It is NOT an EcoTec supercharger kit.

pt number 1780003

it is in the 2006 gmpp cat but no picture

also GM states this warning:
his kit fits both automatic and manual transmission 2003-2005 Chevy Cavailers & Pontiac Sunfires.

This kit does not fit other GM cars that have the Ecotec engine. Programming is only available from GM for Cavalier and Sunfire models.

That is one of the most common mistake about that kit. It is ONLY for the J-body ecotecs. It WILL NOT WORK on the Deltas.

Lets discuss the MAF, MAP, and IAT setups. I have recieved some conflicting information. I have heard that the L61 Cobalts have a combination MAP and IAT, and I have heard they have a combination MAF and IAT. Which is it? I guess the best way to ask is, where exactly is the IAT on the car?

I think most of the time the confusion is caused by the fact that the procedure for installing the kit is talked about in a book that is supposed to be about the cobalt. If you read over the book, you notice that they make no direct comment about how the kit will not fit the cobalt (if they do I can’t find it).

This book.

Your right, they don't say it WONT fit the Cobalt. They also don't say it wont fit a 1973 VW Beetle. What they do say is that it WILL work on 2003-2005 Cavalier and Sunfires, right on page 26.

If its anything like Ford IAT's, it can actually be wired directly into the MAF. From my previous knowledge the had a separate MAF and IAT inserted into the intake and then later wired in the IAT directly into the MAF. Maybe GM took the same route?
