Belt Squeal

So I have a belt squeal and I replaced my alternator because I thought that was causing the squeal. Turns out I wasted 160$ on a new alternator. It squeals louder then ever. I've searched the threads and cannot find a straight forward answer. I used a mechanics stethoscope and it seems like it's coming from the supercharger pulley. I realize it could also be the tensioner since it is stock and I am on the 2.8 pulley. Can someone please link me to a thread on replacing supercharger snout bearings or other solutions to my squeal?
Thanks!

I've been where you are. Are you using the stock belt?

my car was squeling because my cat was clogged weird right, only did it while driving though. Not at idle. Is yours at idle?

Yes it is the stock belt. The supercharger also sort of lags when I shift quick. Im guessing its belt slip. But yes it does it at idle and doesn't stop until around 3000 RPM's then it stops. The squeal gets quiter the longer I drive it. The colder it is the worse louder it gets. I am trying to sell it and a loud squeal doesn't help!

Get a stage two belt(shorter belt), adjustable tensinoner pulley, or over sized tensinoner pulley. I run a 2.8in pulley as well and have the stage 2 belt.

I was planning on getting the adjustable tensioner to fix the belt slip but I don't think it will stop the squeal. I think the bearings in the supercharger snout need to be a replaced.

Alright take some soap and run it on the belt as it's running. If it goes away or gets any better first thing to try is take the belt off and flip it over so it runs on the other side. If it doesn't get any better replace your belt. If you get belt slip go with the oversized tensioner with the stock belt. I will almost guarantee your belt is garbage. I had a hell of a belt squeal battle lol.

Sounds like a supercharger rebuild is in order.

I know its not the same issue, but when i had belt slippage, it was after 4-5k rpm. Bellow that rpm it was silent. I had a tip from a friend, to try to use a bar of soap on the inside of the belt when it was running (to put soap on the belt). Next time i tried to go wot, i went till 7k without any problem. So i changed my tensioner pulley for zzp's adjustable and now its fine

If ur on 2.8 with the stock belt, new or old old its gonna have alot of belt slip. You need to get either the shorter gm belt or the bigger tensioner.
