Got a note from Brad at SCT today:

"We are hoping to release product to Garrett within the next couple of weeks. It has been slow going, but we still plan to launch a pre-programmed tuner for the cars soon."

Niceeeeee! But what do they mean by pre-programmed? Same thing as SCT?

ohhh one more thing for you halfcent. Will we have to upgrade our injectors, or is it as they say a direct bolt on just install it and go?

Brad is from SCT. He's talking about the tune that will be sold with the Garrett kit. If injectors are needed, Garrett will include them.

Injectors will be included in the Alpha kit along with a boost guage.

Someone just posted that SCT is looking for 2.2L in Florida to help them tune, if you're in Florida, do a search on the threads.

So shock surprise I have yet another question.....They say everything is included to be able to do the whole install at your home. Looking at the install manual PDF file it definatly looks like a weekend job and its definatly something you can do with tools in your garage. But my question is if you do the install yourself will it be ok to drive to the shop that will be tuning it? Or should you not do that?

mmm...i might be wrong, as im going off of my very basic tuning knowledge, but i would guess if you stay out of boost (and i mean REALLY out of boost) it would be hard on the engine but driveable....go into boost and run lean and you'll get some big booms

Tow it or install it at the tuners shop. And if you tow it get the proper trailer don't use the one for your lawnmower . Be glad your tuner is only 30 min, i got a 6hr drive to get mine tuned.

What's the latest? Didn't you have an appointment for today?

BTW, I was at Alpine this weekend and John was building my kit. I should be in their shop next week if everything shows up on time.

But YOU WERE FIRST!

well...i have some sad news for us today....i went to the shop that im going to tune my balt at once garrett releases the alpha kit with the SCT tune....so i told the tuners about it and they said they'd look into it....this is an email i got from them today
Casey,

Just spoke to SCT and they have nothing in the works currently with Garrett yet.
I would personally wait to purchase this kit until some base value file or
something is generated by SCT.

Check out www.sctlivewire.com

Muscle Motors Performance, Inc.
it almost made me cry.....but on a happier note...my projectors went in today!

I also talked to garrett. They told me that the tune with the Alpha kit is for Manual transmission only. The TCM needs tuning on the autos so we will have to wait and see.

Your sources information is wrong. SCT has acknowledged their work on their own web site forum.

Is there an update for this? Can we buy the kit and go to a SCT shop and get it tuned yet? Does the available kits come with a reflash? Is there ANYTHING else needed for the GT Tuner kit? Am I sexy?

I haven't heard anything yet. And yes when it does come out you will have to goto a shop that has an SCT tune. From what I've heard you only get a reflash with the alpha kit. And the tuner kit I would say that the only thing needed is injectors. And yes your a sexy bitch. lol

And thats all I gots to say bout that

Awesome thanks for the answers. That last question was to lighten up the mood with the barrage of questions I was asking. But thanks for that answer made me laugh at least.
