No sludge here, always use M1 5W30, looked good for 150K miles imo!

I think it just comes down to what you can afford is how they choose what oil to get.

Now don't think i am biased because i sell AMSOIL, but from using it in both my vehicles I can say that I wont go back to Mobil or any other brand.

AMSOIL's signature series oil is designed with a low-coefficient of friction to reduce heat and wear for performance and fuel efficiency. It is designed for use in turbocharged applications and resists high temperature burn off and chemical break down.

The LS2 TBSS guys swear by this oil, I use it in my TBSS and only change the oil twice a year. The Drain intervals are increased dramatically, 25K/1yr for Signature series and 10k/6mo for XL series.

I do sell it however i am not a supporting vendor as of yet so i can't advertise any prices. If you are interested in purchasing PM' me and I can get you some details and possibly a deal on your first order.

Edit: I should add that I am still in negotiation with IB on vendor status. We are working out a plan that works for me.

Been doing slittle research from bob the oil guy. From what I'm seeing is amsoil and mobile 1 are pretty damn close to the same in performance.

Run some mobile 1 for 25k miles and see what its like. The cost of Amsoil up front is greater but with the extended life (which i can attest to) you end up spending less per year on oil, especially for someone like you who changes their oil very often.

I moved from Mobil 1 to Amsoil. My tuner is a dealer. Amsoil OE 5k oil and the EA filter costs $4 more than Mobile 1 and a wix filter. Seems to last longer and not get as dark as quickly.

The amsoil EA filter seems super beefy too

i tore my motor down and she looked brand new. Always mobil one. The only thing superior to mobil one is the cost of amsoil . regardless of how long the oil resists breakdown, the filter needs to be changed at least every 5k miles. So all these extended oils are imo a crock of ****. This is coming from a tech who has used all kinds of oils, including amsoil. Mobil one fully synthetic is still number one in my book

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the filter break down after 5,000 miles or something. Doesn't that mean that you would have to change your filter on a regular basis anyways, regardless of how long the oil lasts? I've pull my valve cover off and it's still very clean and I have used Mobil 1 since I bought the car. I've put 100,000 miles on it with Mobil 1.

Alot of us have used mobil 1 because thats what the car came with. And for the most part it hasnt done anyone any harm. But what im curious about is also what turbos like which oil as well. the mobile one works good for our motors but does it work good for the s256et? I heard turbos love amsoil

All synthetic oils are very good at keeping sludge away as long as it is changed at regular intervals. Even if you do go over, synthetics from any brand (including Pennzoil even tho they had a HORRIBLE rep in the 90's for sludge) have a higher detergent content than regular conventional oil that is why everyone tearing their engines apart notices little to no sludge.

I was thinking about moving to the Euro Low Ash Mobil 1.

" + client + ": Find Mobil 1 Oil

Can search for local store that has it.

Also, here is my Amsoil oil sample after 8k. It was still in good shape, my sample did have a bit too much iron and fuel, but that might just be the LNF

Agreed. I have always used Mobil 1 in both the LSJ and the LNF and I've never had an issue. even after 10k change my mobile 1 didn't look black/tarry.

The filter comment, Amsoil sells their own filter designed for the extended drain intervals, Wix is also designed to hold 45% more contaminates than normal filters. Its all comes down to what you are willing to spend. I use it in both my cobalt and my TBSS and I have never had any issues with filters or the oil.
