Info/Help w/Oversize Tensioner Pulley

Hey gang, i was told that if running a smaller pulley (2.7in) that instead of going with an adjustable tensior ($100+ zzp) that you could install a larger tensioner pulley (3.5inch i believe) to help tighten the belt and help/eliminate belt slip. I wanting to know where i can purchase this, how much, pros/cons, and what is all involved in the install...hopeing for quick answers for id like to do it before the weekend. When i talked to Nate at smoothflow pulleys today he said he offers one at $50....

yea i seen the one on OTT. i just trying to figure out whats involved in install...and make sure if i have this, my stage 2 belt, a 2.7inch pulley that ill be good to go with no belt slip. ive done alot of research on here and others and it seems like everyone varies.. I've got a horrible sqeauk under my hood now, so i think its something to do with my belt..

well, i think the oversized pulley is made to be used in place of a stg 2 belt. using both might be too tight. install would probably be fairly easy though. is it a rattling or a squeaking?

What might Belt slippages sound like or act like when hitting the gas? anything similar to a slipping clutch?

kelby, I'm running a 2.7" right now on my s/c, and I didn't need to install any kind of tensioner. Stock one worked just fine

not hitting your normal boost numbers (i was pushing 13psi regularly until i started getting belt slip, then it dropped down to 8psi). Its accompanied by a very distinct sound...you'd be able to guess what it is almost immediately after hearing it

Here's a pic of the idler pulleys I make, this is a set for the L67 but a 3.5" idler for the tensioner will look the same.

Nate, from my understanding the stock pulley is 2.5inches, so the ideal oversized to help belt slip would be 3inches...but yours are 3.5inches..???

i think the 3.5" ones are for the M90 cars...not for us. He can make any size pulley anyway, so he can make a 3" idler pulley

The L67 uses one 3" ribbed, one 3" smooth, and one 3.5" smooth so I have whatever you want in stock. One member is running a 3.5" smooth if I recall correctly.
