Hey... the 16G has the same exhaust inlet flange as the EvoIII 16g right? Does the turbo bolt to the manifold correctly? if so i need to make no modifications. and that would make me bounce around with lots of joy

Nice Sw4y1313...hey give me a call tonight!

the 16g uses a diffrent housing, it used a td05, the manifold is made for a t25, u will need to buy a adapter on ebay, they sell for like 50 buks shipped, thats what i did, and ima just haave the adapter welded to the manifold, that should also give me a bit more room,

I could be wrong here but I don't think you can weld cast iron to steel very well. You might want to look into that.

Yeah, me and a guy I work with just googled it as well. The only problem is that cast iron is very porous and I'm not sure how well it would hold up during the heating and cooling cycles. I would just bolt it up with some gaskets personally.

What does said adapter look like then? I'm sort of confused here now.

Actually Vulcan makes an adapter that also brings the turbo down like 35 degrees or something. im going to see if they will make me a T25 to TD05 adapter so i can bring the turbo down a bit. That will give me the room for the turbo.

Sorry bro, i was out all day. The girl bought a 05 Ion 2.2 fully loaded today. I was helping her check it out before she bought it. I had to make sure it was mechanically stout you know

umm well it'll void yur warranty if your turbo setup brakes anything.. it's not going to void you electrical.. ecm .MAYBE but they have to find the tune to know that ... however yes they have the potential to deny your engine and tranny warranty clamims because you're putting down more power then intended

sell it back immediately before you put more miles on the car, they will give you a prorated refund. those warranties are garbage for anything major, they voided mine when the crank pulley spun and took a chunk out of the crankshaft. they said it was because of my poli mounts and cai and coilovers.........

well i just heard from my friend that works at the dealer i get ALL my warranty work done at, said he asked his boss about my extended warranty, "we can still cover stuff on your car ..parts that are STOCK can be covered" thats what he said, so i guess my warranty is safe at that dealer

and hell, only thing modifed will be the aspiration, from n/a to f/i...engine stays stock

well i got bored and decided to redo my cruise control buttons

this time i used a better quality vinyl, the first one shows the new vinyl vs the old

Thats better. Really though, when you plan on doing stuff like this you have to plan for a lot to go wrong, and know how to fix it on your own as well. Or at least know someone who will help you out. When you fry a piston I doubt your dealer is gonna say, well, the piston is still stock...
Or maybe your dealer will, but I doubt that the regional rep will. But then again your dealer might be in good with them. Either way I'd say plan on having an extra couple grand lying around. Or at least enough money for a very cheap beater if you haven't got another car you can use. You never know what might happen

After market warranty? If so one of there people will have to come look and see it it's part failure or simply user error..which means you can forget about them covering it when it goes.

Out of curiosity that flex pipe will be quite restrictive won't it?

yeah im just kidding about the engine being covered, but everything not modifed is still covered, paint, suspension, electronics, etc

well theres some pics of the adapter on the manifold, as you can see i will have to do some porting to the manifold so i can match it with the adapters inlet...and also in the last pic you will see where the adapter has a 8mm size hole, and the manifold has a 10mm one, so i will have to redrill and tap the adapter to be able to bolt it up, might have to shave some material off the turbo flange to clear room for the nuts to go on the studd... im still looking at it to see how ima work this out

Before going to far, just drill the holes out and use 4 bolts to mount the adapter flange. I personally would go that route rather than tap the adapter as you will have more change of snapping stufs/bolts. Then bolt the mani w/ adapter and turbo all up in the car to check on clearances etc. Please take some pics as well. I'm not sure how that is going to work out since 16g's aren't usually mounted at an angle like that. Really curious to see how it's all going to fit back there.

yeah i see what ur saying thats what ima do, im going to take a 10mm drill and go over the 8mm ones, than just put the studs on the manifold and slide the adapter on, than tigheten a nut on the stud, than check to make sure the turbo still slides in all the way cuz i think the nuts will get in the way of the turbone housing, so i might have to shave a bit off the sides of it, still dont know i havent really tried to mount the 3 together at once...and as far as the turbo in that angle it sits fine, i can actually swueeze the turbo thru the top of the engne in to the back even with the stock manifold on, fits just fine, there is more than enough room back there for this thing

there some pics of the turbo with the intake side converted to 2.5" that way i can use the left over IC piping for the intake aswell, i also have a 2.5-3 adapter to covert that 2.5 into 3" right before the filter so i can use a regular 3" filter, but honestly i am losing interest in boosting the car now, at first i was pretty excited, but now i have lost all interest in the project and wonder weather i should even continue, i have every essential part, every line, every fitting, ever tee, every coupler, i have everything needed to throw this bitch on except for the 42lbs injectors and a tune...i have 34lbs, but they wont hold max boost...losing interest, anyone want to take this **** off my hands?

theres a couple pics of the ebay intake that came in...filter looks ugly b/c of the epoxy, but i could careless, it works just right, filter is k&n FTW

Don't call it quits now! You are almost there! Those 34 should handle the 10psi load without issues as your IDC's won't be as high as an SS/SC's with the M62. You can upgrade to the 42's later on if necessary.
