/\ /\ /\ /\ Agreed. Both motors will be dynamically different under boost, we need to know what motor

Well dont look at it in boost. You want 300hp, whp? I take it its not an SS/SC. So either she has a 2.4 or 2.2. The 2.2 is good for about 220whp give or take. Hahn has their 2.4 Solstice up to what 320whp? If she has the 2.4, you can make 300bhp with a mildly sized turbo fairly easy. If she does have the 2.4, your going to need HPTuners to tune the car. If its a 2.2, you will need to run a piggyback as of right now. AEM FIC or Perfect Power's SMT-6 have been proven to work. If you want 300hp out of a 2.2, you will need to buy new pistons and rods at the least. That will make the engine good for 400whp.

Well if your girl wants a fairly quick boosted car, for cheap, i would go with a used M62 setup off an SS/SC(M62, intake manifold, Heat Exchanger). It would get her to about 200whp+/-, keep the car fairly reliable and you could have all the parts for about $1500 give or take. Tuning would require a AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller which is about $400-450.

I would recommend getting the Hahn kit then if she is looking to spend 5-6 grand. With 5 grand you could pick up the Hahn kit($3300?), Boost/AFR Gauges($400ish), Diamond Pistons w/ rings($475), eagle rods($300), Cometic Head Gasket($80), and Stage 2 clutch w/ fidanza flywheel($650). That right there can get her low 13's maybe high 12's running higher boost. Problem is, your gonna need to have the car retuned by a SCT Dealer. As of right now i dont think you can do your own SCT tuning(hopefully that will change here soon). Oh forgot, you will need 60lb injectors(about $250 w/ harness?) cuz the 34's wont handle 300hp. That should get her into lowww 13's, maybe 12's if she can really drive or get slicks.

Looks like a total of about $5455 give or take. I quoted high just to be on the safe side. If you can do all the engine work yourself, which you should be able to with the GM Build book, you wont have to worry about labor.

Ok bout the last post . . .trust me I'm not here for a my car is cooler or faster contest. I was just makin a point bout how for most people just addin a sc would be enought but I know if she is doin cruises with us then she'll wanna keep up gradin her car like we have and the best way I see that is close to limit less would be Turbo. Now if you really wanna talk bout my car I'll give you my myspace and You can see a few picts of it and I'll be more then willin to tell you all about it to prove it.

NO LSD on the 2.2s, but there's one available from Quaife for about a grand. You have to make sure it's for the 2.2/2.4 Cobalt tranny, the 2.0 SS/SC tranny is completely different. Axles are a weak point but there are Driveshaft Shop stage 2 axles available for $700 give or take.

As for tranny, assuming she has a manual since you're looking at the Hahn kit (manual only). I would say the clutch would be your main concern at those power levels. Not a whole lot else available for the manuals as far as the tranny itself.

Theres your answer right there. You would need the LSD installed, it doesnt come factory. but im not 100% positive that those axles will fit our tranny. They are made for the F35 tranny thats in the SS/SC. I will be going to the dealer to compare both axles to see if they will fit the F23(2.2/24 manual tranny). Unless someone has already confirmed they will work.

BTW, your welcome =P if you have any questions just ask man! i love sharing knowledge.
