i dont care about what the car could hit for power, no kidding it could have made 650whp, im talking about the most efective range for the turbo, 400whp on the 2871r is MAX, and your running thin lines doing that, which alot of people do, but myself, id rather have a reliable setup

i would def use one of these brushes if you dont hone. this is what i was told to use from total seal.
it removes all the cyl glaze but does not remove material. it will also produce a nice cross hatch if used correctly

too tired... been flagging 55 hrs at wrk. but i didnt order my stg3 clutch. ttr ftw ! by the way guy i decided not to build the head. just gunna have the maching shop rebuild for 150.. new valves, seals, and hot tanked, because i need an exhaust, open down pipe might be a bit to loud haha
How does the bowl affect the point where detonation occurs? Detonation is when the temperaures have reached a point where explosions are occuring fighting normal operation correct? How does the bowl prevent this from happening? Not trying to be an a-hat but I don't fully understand the specifics 
If you mean that the bowl being the result of a lower cr then yeah I guess youd be safer when it comes to detonation but that is not required for boosted appliactions like you said? Higher octane and or meth/water injection will also fight knock/detonation.

I think you will hit 400whp with the aftermarket head and cams. Definatly if you add meth. But like everyone says that turbo will be working hard. 400whp is optimal range for a gt30 not a gt28. good luck
The design of the top of the piston can help with the propagation of the flamefront and also effects quench. Improper piston design can result in hotspots which can cause detonation.

also ive decided since no one wants to buy my nitrous kit im just going to use it as an intercooler.. but insteasd of filling it was nitrous ill filled it with c02 ( cheaper)... has anyone run intercooler spray on their cobalt ? feedback on idea ?

thanx for clearing that up.. after doing a lil more research ive realized the turbo isnt big enough to hold that much power efficently and is going to start glowing pretty quick haha.. so ill probably upgrade the turbo to a 6262 or a 6057 from precision.. but thats in january some time lol... i really wanna get a meth kit but they are a little pricey and i really dont know how it works lol.. never researched it.. but yea man when its dun ill take a ride up there. im always down to do some "closed road racing" lol

And imho the intercooler nitrous spray is a complete waste you would be better off putting a 10-15 hp shot into the motor that would cool it alot more. IDK how your set up is going to look but if the air intake is anywhere near the intercooler it can suck up those gases under WOT it has a powerful vaccum. I would only use it during pre staging.

How much you want for the nitrous if its the right price I may know some people? And meth is really good idea especially with that much boost and 10:1 CR. Pretty much you can buy the pure stuff over on prospect next to 95 at the VP and you mix it with water and your good to go. You dump it into a tank and the set it to turn on at a certain boost level. The more expensive kits can even add it progressivly. it raises the octane to between 100-125 depeending on how much you inject and it lowers your intake air temp 50-60 degrees. And it lowers EGT's and combustion chamber temps a few 100 degrees and the steam from the water cleans all the carbon deposits off the head and pistons. Honestly im boosting my vette next month and meth will be the very next mod as a safety thing. As long as its set up right you won't have issues its when people don't set it up right bad things happen it's like nitrous the horror stories are always from a guy that screwed something up. The only thing you have to worry about is to keep the tank full. Most kits come with a low level senser and the high end kits will open your bypass valve or wastegate if it doesnt detect meth flow so you can't build boost. The kits range from $200-$800. VP pure meth is $37 for 5 gallons here

Just so I know what to tell people I got a few friends going with spray this winter.
its going all right. some minor set-backs here and there. i had my clutch fail so it was like a grand taken away from the project. aiming for a late january install but thats probably not gonna happen. lol

Standalone nitrous computer with window switch, wot switch, gear lockout, progressive control, lean and rich A/F monitoring with a safety system to shut it down if it went either way, lean out delay, nitrous solonoid delay, pedal delay, and time delay and timing control to only remove timing when I spray.
Nitrous never got over the stigma of being cheap power so people want it real cheap
