how much boost can a oem lsj map sensor read ? cuz i plan on runnning about 19 psi

 

22.5psi(2.5bar)

 

i believe the OEM MAP sensor on a LSJ can only read up to 15lbs. At least thats where the tables end in HP tuners.

 

22.35 is technically what it can read, but fueling issues hit above 17psi, I think...

oh ok.. i think im gunna sel the progressive controller and just run an on and off switch.. cheaper and easier lol

 

im pretty sure your gonna need the map sensor anyway to be tuned properly

 

most of the boosted 2.2 and 2.4 ecotecs are only using their stock 1 bar sensor... the only REAL advantage it would give you is to have some part throttle boost tuning however our ecms dont really have the functions in there for that so it doesnt really help

 

so i can use my stock map sensor to run the progessive controller for meth ?

well i had a biit of a set back today.. i broke one of my piston rings so now i have to order a new set.. take three days so everything will be on hold oh and i got my injector harness from ottp today

ahh if you're going to run a progressive boost controller then no id say a 2.5 bar map...

if your running a regular one then it could be switched on above 110kpa (ie when you go into PE)

 

sorry guys havent updated in awhile my kids been sick and havent had much time to stay late at the shop to work on my motor... i will put some updates up tonight after work.. still awaiting turbo kit

i thinkin ima just run a regular set up and sell the progressive controller.. dont have much money let to play with lol

thnx man.. i just woke up one morning and was like, ima paint my block red ! ... but the motor should dun today... i did the balance shaft timing ( super easy) and installed the water pump.. i just need to slap the head on and do the timing

alright guys i got bad news today... well a frew things actually... first off i called canda post because i still havent recieved my turbo kit.. come to find it was shipped out to california instead of fl.. so i wont recieve it until dec 26. second thing is i went to do my time today and one of my cam gears are broken so now i have to order a new one so here what im going to do... since i no longer have money to get tuned. im gunna order my cam gear tomorrow finish the timing. hopefully slap the motor and tranny together on sat and drop the motor back in my car. then ill break the motor in until i get paid again and then by that time i should have the turbo and ill slap the kit on and get tuned. so thats pretty much the game plan now

make sure u triple check the timing. very easy to **** up.

 

idk bro it seem pretty straight forward just have the crankshaft sprocket at 5 oclock and align the colored links up
