What a luck with ZZP products

Boy that I'm lucky with ZZP products, but their customer service been really good to me.
first a little information about ZZP parts.
2.4 Turbo kit air/liquid then later change to air/air
installed on 2010, only 2 years of use, one year car was not use because of deployment.
99% of the time turbo will be boosting 10-11 psi, 1% was 20-24psi the first time and when the wastegate went bad, basically on tuning times.
Car is DD so it wasn't seeing 10-11psi everyday.

First thing to go was the wastegate
Tial Wastegate gone bad
that is now at TiAL being repair. Right now I'm using a Ebay wastegate

and now this....
is this acceptable play?????

If so, will it make this sound?
the turbine will spin, but when I push it to the sides I'm not able to move it.

Most likely i will have to contact Borg Warner now right?
and i thought the engine would be the first one to go instead the turbo and wastegate lol
now i hope the BOV from ZZP doesn't go bad too

Yeah the way it sounded when shut off sounds like it is slowing down instead of a sudden stop so it seems to be the turbo

That's really odd, I remember checking the turbine for play when I had the piping off to put the new stuff on and it was perfect...

Really strange for it to get like that so quickly, not like it's a cheapo turbo.

Yep, been there after a year and a half, not nearly as bad as yours though. I did a WOT run and I noticed what sounded like rubbing of the turbo and then took it apart, journal bearings were bad. You might need more than rebuild, shaft and wheel is gone I'll bet, new cartridge assembly more than likely.
Thought it was an oiling issue, made some changes to it and a year and a half later, here we are again !

you been tuned ? other than the zzp canned tune ?
With some help and advice we are going to be watching EGT's as I think they are too high, over heating the turbine wheel and coking up the journal bearings on that side.
I installed an EGT probe right before turbo so we'll see what goes on when its running, hope this weekend.
Here is what it looked like this time.
Turbine side bearing on the left, compressor side on the right.

Ive always had good experiences with them. They are quick to respond to my emails and when my resonator they replaced my whole exhaust for free. good luck though!

There's almost no way on a running engine that you will see that happen to a bushing like that. Looks as if it needed more cool-down time if anything. Maybe the big back housings and cast manifolds are holding too much heat and boiling the oil anyway even after an idle-down time. It only takes 350+ degrees to start to compromise the oil, and there's plenty of heat in that metal even from normal use.

These cars don't have oil problems, the oil pressure is very high and they flow well, unless for some reason the supply line/fitting that ZZP is using is too restrictive, but they usually think things through better than that in my experience.
