zzp turbo kit for the 2.4
So you can't use the 9-3 one? I just want to figure all this out because I as gonna replace my header anyway.. So if I am gonna go turbo I'll just get a turbo header obviously instead of a normal one.. Anything else needed for that kit aside from the header?
Here's another one.. This one looks a little better..

Hmm.. Guess I'm just not meant to go boost.. Why didn't they just make all of these 2.0T's like the 9-3's? lol. I'd like to go s/c even but I want to get the suspension and stuff done more.. I am getting tired of the wheel gap now with the 18's..
So in other words, you could get the eBay kit, but just get a quality BOV and blower? My friend is turbo-ing his B16 CRX, so he has alot of spare **** around.. He even had a cheap-o set-up on his EG coupe that was still pretty sick.. I mean, I really only want low low boost.. Not enough to really worry about blowing anything up.. lol. Is the eBay kit even sized and everything for our car? As in, the tubing and all that? I know that alot of that eBay stuff like that is kinda "one size fits all".. And that's gay.. But if it's reasonable, I may see what I can do.. But also, my 2.4 is an auto.. Will that be OK with a DIY turbo kit? I'd assume so since there are lots of turbo autos, even a distant cousin of the Cobalt, the Saab 9-3 with the 2.0T motor..

Grr. Universal. It says you need the turbo manifold and a downpipe.. Could you get both of those from the Saab 2.0T? Or what other options do you have? Let's say you bought this kit in the link.. What else would you need to make this work? Price ideas on the manifold? Could I use the stock downpipe or is it a different set-up? I have a GMPP catback, and will be replacing the header/dp/cat early next summer.. So everything will have very good flow.. I'm not worrying about making insane power, just a little added scoot.. I'm willing to work with it a bit if it looks promising..?

It's a bit pricey, but the quality is great and it's a common T3 4 bolt flange. As for the downpipe, most people make their own. Don't worry about the downpipe until you buy your turbo, because you're not going to know what kind of flange you will need until after you've got the turbo picked out. There are many kinds of flanges and you don't want to make a downpipe with one flange, and then find a perfect turbo and it doesn't fit.
After you know your turbo, then you'll know what flange to get. Take that to your local exhaust shop and they can make you one with that flange and even weld it onto your current exhaust system if you choose not to upgrade to 3" exhaust. (which is recommended)

After, you will have to get a universal IC piping kit off ebay and an intercooler, make sure that the inlets and outlets are the same. 2.5" is your best bet, it's small enough to flow air, and yet large enough to support over 400+ hp if you ever decide to take that avenue. Try and get an IC no taller than about 7". Also, keep in mind that you will have to custom do your own brackets to attach it to your frame.
You need a wastegate (if your turbo is externally wastegated) and a blow off valve. Tial is the authority on wastegates/BOV. For the wastegate, 38mm is recommended.
Larger fuel injectors. Most setups use the 42# injectors from the stage 2 kit. This is large enough for what you're looking for. You can go larger to the 60#, but running low boost, I don't think it's at all necessary. Others can correct me if I'm wrong however. You will also have to redo the wiring harness for your injectors in order to accommodate for the SS injectors.
Braided oil lines/fittings, boost controller, turbo timer, vacuum hoses, and fuel pressure/AF ratio/boost gauges are all necessities, but most of that kind of stuff can be found on ebay relatively cheap.
All in all, I recommend you read up on how turbos work, and understand the core components of everything. How it all works, what each part does. Once you get the general idea of it all, you'll know yourself what you need.

The last page is very old, and it mainly discusses integra/honda platforms, but it's a great read and it explains everything in great detail.
Good luck piecing together your kit, but if all else fails, go get the hahn/garrett kit. You'll save time and headaches.
No problem, and keep in mind that what I posted is an oversimplification of everything you need.
Unless you're willing to spend a year or so planning/preparing/learning, you should go with the hahn kit.
You'll get everything in a big box of joy, with instructions and pictures, and more importantly support and a community that has experience with that kit. Plus, trifecta can tune that kit to a T by now.
