Just to chime in on the debate yet again... we've seen the Dynos of the Sky Redline/Solstice GXP... that 2.0L Turbo is pushing about as much as it can possibly push... sure... it has a bit better torque... but as far as HP goes... it's ballpark with the current LSJ.

We have all seen the screen shot of upcoming products that was leaked... There was even a reference on GMINSIDE news to OUR thread, The cobalt will be turboed and will have a 6speed... Will it happen in 08? who knows but as far as i know they have stopped building the supercharged cobalts in plant.. So speculate all you want something is gonna be changing... Now lets relax and wait and see... Starting to turn into a Stage kit obsession...

dude, that screenshot said absolutely NOTHING about the cobalt... it just said that there would be a LNF engine.... that's it, end of story... that's the engine used in the sky/solstice... how does that in any way shape or form prove that it's going to be in the cobalt??

anyone considered the thought that the saturn bringing in the Astra might be the car reffered to in that LNF screenshot?

Cuz the word "cobalt" did not appear on that entire page.

Exactly.

And verified by several people. Hell these people that verifieded it could know jack crap. For all we know the people who "work at gm" could sit in a basement at there moms house and sell crap on ebay. No one on here knows anything about anyone. For all we know the person above me is a crazy terrorist. So whoever "verified" anything could be pulling your chain.

Plus its not hard to go into word and make a website knock off like what was show to be "proof". Not to mention in the screenshot of the "proof" it was nothing but a WORD document. WOOOO

Is the Astra the car thats replacin the Ion? If it is, then i wouldn't mind a turbo in that car cuz its always more fun smokin ppl in a saturn
Plus i saw a concept pic a couple months ago and it looked pretty cool. Anybody see any pics? A link would be nice...

It was listed as "Chevrolet Small Car." Chevrolet has two Deltas - HHR and Cobalt so there wasn't just a "Cobalt" listing. But it said Chevrolet - so if it's real it's not just referring to Astra.

No, there's no hard evidence right now, but I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen. Will probably crash this site if it hasppens, LOL.

If you guys check out cheersandgears.com, they had a news article that was posted by someone on here. The new LNF (2.0 Turbo) engine with a new F40 (6-speed manual) transmission will be in a Chevy small car..... hmm Maybe the COBALT??? The interesting part of that sheet is that it lists the F35 (current 5-speed) AND the F40 (new 6-speed) So could the 6-speed be an upgrade option?? Or will it be standard equipment?

BTW: If any of you remember the Stage Kit threads a year+ ago, This reminds me of that. I think this is a much "proof" as we can get without actully seeing the car. Hopefully people will chill and just WAIT until Jan. when the concept will hopefully be shown.

2) Does intake void the warrenty
3) The 2008 cobalt is turbocharged... i know for a fact

these are the only 3 things... gets very annoying... that's why the guy said to do a search... had nothing to do with him being an ass, it's just the right thing to do

My first question was about performance chips lol. Good thing i asked i almost bought one.

I just love when people say "Its been verified by several people", For all we know the people who "verified" this information could work for ford as a spy. YOU NEVER KNOW. Hell I could be President of some little ass country.

Or they could just state the true output of the motor.

i just got back from the dealership and i asked the service manager. He said that it looks like they are doing a 08 turbo model. He said alot of people have complained about the supercharger making that noise and all the problems with the wheel hope and stuff so they think by doing a turbo it will help. i asked him if there will be an upgrade kit and he said he didnt know.

just a suggestion

Since people are going to upgrade their parts after they buy it anyway, why not keep our current cars, wait for HPTuners (2.2L guys only), and throw turbos on the Cobalts we alread own? Then we wouldn't have to deal with jacked up sticker prices and low trade-in values.

It's just a suggestion.

I cant say either way but i DO know that after years of havinga S/Ced car Mini Cooper is changing to turbo so it COULD be a trend. And for all ther haters out there, yes i know that a Mini is a totally different car and all that **** but im just pointing out the fact of their forced induction change after YEARS of having an S/C............

the fact that the 2 comments he made make him sound like a RETARD that doesnt bode well for his credability.

firstly....the SC noise is just as popular if not more than a turbo scream. most people...especially those who buy a SC car LOVE that whine.

secondly. what in the **** does wheel hop have to do with being sc or tc?!?

next time you see your service manager...walk up to him and slap him.

preferably with baby powder on your palm.
