09 gettin cheap?

shoppin for a car for the misses, so i looked into gettin a another cobalt, i was suprised to see that a donut spare was taken out and replaced with a tire repair kit and pump. but i can pay for a donut spare. how cheap. i remember the days when you got a full size spare.lol any other changes for the 09 year compared to 08?

supercars have done that for years now. fix a flat repair is pretty much figured out now, and nobody knows how to change a tire anyways (most call a tow truck) so this is a great way for gm to save weight and will no longer have to design cars to hold a spare tire.

Still, those fix a flat repair systems only work on a small percentage of tire injuries.....so if you have anything bigger than a nail in your tire, you better have money for a tow truck. Pretty lame if you ask me.

the hybrids have the same thing a repair kit and an air pump. i ask my shop foreman well what if they have a cut in the tire, how are you going to repair that all he said was call a tow truck i looked at him and i swear i was like that is the stupidest thing i've ever heard.

thing is the majority of people on the road have no idea how to change a tire or even were the spare tire is. most people just call a tow truck.

it's not hard to change a tire. as for "making the car lighter".... 50 lbs in a couple tons isn't going to change much.

agreed, but to change the tire. not to pay to have the car towed to a tire store. and no GM will not pay for the tow because of a flat, and AAA only covers so many miles. after that you pay.

when my ss/na was being repaired last winter i rented a pontiac grand prix. one day i was bored and looked through the manual and found that they came with tire repair kits but when i checked the trunk somebody must've taken it already. i think the donut should be standard and the repair kit optional
