Try not slipping it and reving as much and the clutch shouldn't start to get hot. But don't worry man your cars brand new! It needs to break in a little bit and then you won't smell it at all. My Cavi was like that till I said screw it and dogged the **** out of it one day and then no more clutch smell ever!

I live in cali so no snow here unless I go out and find it some 300+ mi away for hitting the slopes on a real mt . and not Big Bear.

I suggest looking for chains. I got a set last year as my annual Mammoth Trip forcasted a nice little storm of a snow fall. it took a few tries but I found some at the local sport shop Sport Chalet and they fit . wire chains I hear are not as detrimental to ones paint job as notrmal chains. lucky for me I did not need them. It might help but what can you do with hp on ice other than a slip n' crash on ice. *if your unfortunate*

I had no problem driving yesterday and this morning around town. We got almost 2ft of snow in the past 1 1/2 days. Only thing I didn't like is that I was the 'plow' for my residential street. But I didn't get stuck at all. Snow Tires FTW!

yes, they do. over the weekend had a good 6" of snow around the car. and then to top it off the plow was coming all day, there was about a 13-15" pile of snow behind my car. i drilled right out of it while other cars, trucks, suv's, everything were just spinning stuck.

same thng on the drive home from work friday. people were stuck left and right, couldn't get up the hill. i was driving like the roads were perfectly dry.

you have a SS/SC sorry to say but it did not come with stock all season....the Rosso's are strickly summer tires and suck absolute ***** in the snow and should not be used unless you want to run your car into someone or something. I have Falken 912's all season but still wish i had dedicated snow tires. I get around ok but definately have to keep it slow.

Or ones that don't have as much money as others. Before you go around judging people and calling people names how about you realize everyone can't get EVERYTHING you have. I just got the car, as a gift, and my dad is stubborn, and I am not going to ask him for any more. He traded in my car and put a decent amount of money on my car. And I don't have that much money either, I JUST came back from school, and am working to get some money, so how about you not name call and grow up a bit.

Trust me, I know very well that my PZeros aren't snow rated. But I can't do much about it right now. i won't be home long enough to get good use out of them. I have to keep it slow as well, and I came out okay.

some of us retarded mother ******* know how to drive in the snow. i did just fine on my pirellies saturday in the snow.

it's called throttle control.

p.s. let the clutch out slowly without throttle input. the tires will spin, this is normal. when the car starts to move. very slowly add throttle. it will pull just fine.

Yeah, i did fine in the snow as well, in my pirellis, but i just had to be careful as always.

I did that, but 1st still spun like crazy. I started doing 2nd gear launches and I did just fine.

there is a trick to it. one must master more snow driving to find this trick.

ya know, i find it funny that people resort to snow tires. i never have. never had a need for them.

Just throwing my 2 cents in, I have the same tires that came with my car, and am going on my 3rd winter with them without any problems. I live in Northwestern Ontario, where we're no strangers to -50 below and getting a foot or two of snow daily. I drive 40k to town and back every couple of days, with no problems on the highway. The odd time through intersections, its a slow start going through walls of snow. Anyway, a waitress that works at my restaurant has a Pontiac G5 I believe, almost exact same car , everything seems really simmilar (ever button, switch, the glovebox, is identical, headlights too, the body is quite similar) Anyway, she was talking about getting winter tires, and preaching to me for about a month straight about them. She finally got them changed, then went on saying how HUGE the difference is between her regular tires, and her winter ones. And how dangerous it was without them, and couldn't believe I wouldn't buy some myself. Anyway, the point of my story is, she ditched her car within 2 weeks of getting her amazing tires, I even drove past it on the highway one morning, commented to myself on 'what kind of idiot would ditch (10ft down into the ditch on a hill) their car and leave it overnight' then found out that day at work, it was her. I just didn't recognize it cause the foot of snow that had already collected ontop. Then, saving her from a couple hundered $$$ in towing chargers, we got a free tow with our CAA from the caddy. Didn't even thank us. I'm not knocking winter tires, I wish I had some myself, I just don't have the $800.00 for nice Blizzaks. Maybe next year.

Sorry to say that winter driving can be tricky I resorted myself to having an Ls and having tires worn down past the indicators but it is safe defensive driving which will get you out of slippery situations. Idiots think snows and suvs are going to make all the difference, they do by having cocky drivers think they are inferior to the weather conditions which puts cocky drivers into accidents. Just my opinion.

your telling me to grow up,im not the one riding on the streets in the snow whitout winter tire. i got pissed off everyday these days by ppls running 40 on the highway, sliding towards me and so on because they dont have winter tire. one thing on my list that i have no respect for is that motherfuckin **** because i deal with that everyday on my way to work. i know there is other ppls in here that thinks like me. dont drive a car if you cant afford it.

You my friend, are a complete *******. You need to grow up SERIOUSLY. I can afford the car. I am affording it rather well, and I probably have paid off my car more than you have. Brand new, only 2K left to pay on it, with gas and insurance, so don't patronize me and tell me not to drive a car I can't afford, I can afford it quite well.

I'm not one of those ******** doing 40 and barreling towards you. I was EXTREMELY safe and defensive, I didn't pass 1 person on my way home, they were passing me. I don't give 2 ***** if you have any respect for me or not, I don't rate others on if they have snow tires or not, and I guarantee I'm not the only one who doesn't, and like others said, some people can control their cars in the snow. It was my first time in the snow, and its not like I can magically whip out snow tires while I'm driving. I also think i did pretty darn good for the first time. i didn't hit anyone, didn't come close to it.

Maturity has nothing to do with buying a new set of tires, it DOES have to do with learning to place your blame correctly. I don't even live in the same country as you. Blame the people who do that to you, not me. /rant

PS: Ever stop to think that its because the butt-rags can't drive or don't know how to drive in the snow being the reason for them coming at you, and NOT JUST their tires?
