2.2 to 2.0?

Hey guys...
my brother in law found this site where companies sell insurance claimed cars...there is a ss/sc on there that was rear ended pretty badly. now the front end is in perfect shape and the inside is in perfect shape as well. i wont have enough money to do what im thinking of now; but i might in the next couple of months or so. i was wondering how hard it would be to take the motor and trans out of the ss/sc and put it into my 4dr 2.2. arent the motors the same shell? dont they have the same mounts and all? basically if it can be done and pretty easily im thinking of buying a wrecked ss/sc and taking the engine out and rebuilding it and make it to handle tons of boost...would this work?

plus i have always wanted the bumper of a ss and the seats would be nice too...at least the fronts

Can be done, heard of it before. You need to be a good mechanic though, but if all the swap is there and working, your golden.

the mechanic part im not really worried about...i have a friend who basically makes money off of buying and repairing cars and selling them. but it will really be something to think about...i think it would be pretty sweet!

As far as I know, they are the same dimensions and mounting. You might also want to grab the front axle as well, I think the 2.0 axle is stronger than the 2.2 to compensate for sportiness.

I'd swap things like interior and such, also just do a Supercharger swap.

Blow up the 2.2, then swap in the LSJ motor later.

if you are talking firewall forward, that could get to being an absolute bitch. just do all the necissary stuff pcm engine tranny wiring. i dont know if the coupe and the sedan have the exact same lines or not.

i was joking about blowing it up. Maybe swap the super over, tune it for lower boost.

Build that 2.0 motor while you have it out.

If you do buy it, make sure you rip everything from the engine bay, leave it clean. You may need the ss/sc instrument cluster too but I don't know...
