I am interested in taking out the factory cd/radio to replace with a cd/cassette deck....(dont ask, long story). Anyway, has anyone changed the stereo? It sounds like a TOTAL clusterf**k to do this. You need a $90-125 dollar piece (PESWIX) to be able to use the steering wheel controls, maybe another HUGELY expensive item that may have to replace the brainbox in the Driver Information Center which may be included in the radio unit, plus the cost of the player and installation.
Anyone have any experience with that or any other knowledge pertaining to where the brainbox of the DIC is located?
