Bad News

I was going around today, trying to find a Chevy dealership who had an open spot in their service dept, so I could get my SS looked at. At one of the dealerships I stopped at, two of the managers came out and was looking at my car because they hadn't seen one yet and wanted to look at it. While I was talking to them, one of them told me GM had just cancelled all of their orders for the SS. The manager was told that GM was running low on parts. I can't confirm this info in any way, just thought I would share what I was told, and see if anyone has heard anything similar.

well, I had heard that was what had been causing horrible delays in getting the coupes (SS or not).

But it 'sounds' from what I had heard from the dealers I'd spoke to that it was a issue that is no longer...
I'm putting in an order for a 2006 SS S/C tomorrow at my local Chevy dealer (at least planning to)..

so if I get bad news I will update here. otherwise.. it will be a "wait and see" wait for build date etc.

I was told by the sales manager today that my SS shows as being scheduled for production this week. Nothing mentioned about cancellations.

They did canclel some orders, not all of them. They notified the dealers affected by the cancellation. I saw the list and it was in the range of about 400 cars.

I can only pull them up by the number itself.
