from what i read it's around 1700-1900 rpms and peddle through the wheel hop. i never launch my car though cause that's when the majority of stuff breaks... i go from a roll, or not at all.

If back peddling the throttle doesnt work try slipping the clutch a little.
Ive tried launching at several RPMs 1800 thru 2500 and either spin or nose dive the car.
I want to launch to get a good reaction time, just havent gotten the hang of it yet.
If your going for a good time slip, don't worry about the reaction time and launch the car like you do on the street at a light, your ET may be better.
I met up with ToMeGun at Pittsburgh Raceway last week. The track was very slick, I went for the reaction time and spun off the line (15.00). He didnt care about the RT, granny launched, no wheelspin and ran 14.7 something.
Good Luck.
