Blown Transmission

No, not on a Cobalt, haven't got mine yet. It's the Camaro

Cruising on home last night and my car disabled the traction control by itself.

I figured that it was an electric gremlin and I continued on my way.

At the next red light I noticed that my idle was about 200 rpm too high, and I had no acceccories on. Accelerating away from the light, the transmission stuck in 1st till about 3,500 rpm then shifted into 2nd. It would not shift into third or fourth unless I lifted off the throttle. If I tapped back on the gas, it downshifts back to second.

As you can imagine I am pissed off.

When's the last time you checked / changed your tranny fluid? (I'm assuming it's an auto)

i would check to see if your sensors are dirty aswell (o2 and maf for sure), i think theres something else thats electronic with auto trannies that can affect shifting as well. and check the fluid as stated above ^

Well, I just got off the phone with my mecanic and it was the computer control module for the trans. that was fried. Hopefully this is a cheap fix, because I don't wan't to put money into a car that I will be trading in.

They can't make my new SS soon enough darnit!!!!
