Cobalt 2.4 or Mustang GT?
So, my friend has a 99 Mustang GT bone stock and he likes to talk about how pathetic Cobalts are... I have a 08 Cobalt Sport 2.4L bone stock. He refuses to believe that even the S/C's or T/C's could even keep within 5 car lengths of him and from what I've read around he is completely wrong. Now, my question is would I be able to run with him from a dig or any roll? By the way he says he's had his Mustang up to 180 mph and still hasn't topped it out which I personally believe is BS. Anyways, I run 93 octane gas and he runs 87 octane if that makes a difference. Any chance for my Balt?

Not really. GT's are slow as dog sh%t especially stock, he sure has a big mouth. Id race him for ya, but I dont exactly have a SS/SC anymore .
Id say, just get a SS/SC nearby to race him.

You have no idea how big it is, he thinks he knows everything... Anyways, I have not seen a SS/SC around here, not even on the dealer lots so that's not gonna happen anytime soon... I do feel bad for his Mustang though, he wants to put a Shelby engine in it and then sell it next year because he's already bored of it, he hasn't even had it for half a year yet.

Shelby..... Riiiiiigggghhhhtt.
He will blow his tranny before he gets to use it on the street.
Tell him an SVT owner called him a TOOL, and an IDIOT. Also tell him that hes a retard to think he can just drop a shelby engine into the GT and make it work with the stock transmission.
I WILL HELP U BEAT HIS ASS.

I'll drive my 80mm pullied car up there. I mean, it's only a 3" pulley on a cobalt, right?
On a TVS blower.....
I was beating that model of GT when I was stock + 2.5 catback.

Also for being an all mighty SVT owner you have one of the lowest cars on totem pole and you are just as big of a TOOL and IDIOT as the GT owner is. You are prolly one of the least informed "SVT Owners" I know.
To the OP stock to stock a GT would slightly win in a 1/4 mile race but an SS/SC will pull a few cars on the GT from a roll.

My friends bone stock '01 GT went 14.1@99 his first time to the track, even with a ~2.1 60', which leaves room for improvement.
Our '01 GT (w/ catback exhaust) went 14.2@100 with a 2.2 60'... the same 60' I get with my open diff V6 Mustang... and with a track temp of ~90*.
What's more, there were 3 other near-stock '99-'04 Mustangs at the track the same night my friend went 14.1 that were running 14.2-14.3.
The '99-'04 GT's are capable of faster 1/4-mile times than SS/SC's, stock vs. stock. From a roll, it may be different.

Dude STFU. You run your mouth consistently talking **** about other cars; your car is not that fast either.
Also for being an all mighty SVT owner you have one of the lowest cars on totem pole and you are just as big of a TOOL and IDIOT as the GT owner is. You are prolly one of the least informed "SVT Owners" I know.
I ran 14.5 in my bone stock 04 Auto GT and 14.0 with just gears. A good driver with a 5spd can go low 14s stock. A 96-98 GT is more along the lines of high 14s low 15s stock.
To the OP stock to stock a GT would slightly win in a 1/4 mile race but an SS/SC will pull a few cars on the GT from a roll.

Good to see u. Was wondring when you were going to start trolling my threads again. You drive what? An auto? Is the stick too difficult for you to launch? Do "pros" like you drive autos?
LOLZ, you drive a car that takes no skill to launch.
Please, get out of my thread. The SS/SC will spank the stock GT.
And BTW, its the truth about the tranny, so how bout u STFU dummy. No way that shelby engine is going to run on a GT tranny.
