Still, you're comparing it to a car nearly 20 years newer... and 99-04 GT's have gone faster times than 14.3... and so have 05+ GT's, by a lot.

Alright, I'll try to get him up there, if not I'll at least show up and we can run since I've been wanting to anyways, just can never get someone to go with me. Friends only day off is Sunday so he can't use work as an excuse to get out!

The mustang is and always will be a great muscle car. So many choices of mods that any stang can be quick. The FAST ones usually have a power adder...no offence to stang guys. I will always be one at heart. Hell, if a deal come by me for a 5.0 car someday, my 30mpg cobalt may stay home on friday nights...forged and rollered...maybe a turbo? Ford knew damn well that folks were going to beat the snot out of them. Easy 12 second car.

did it actually do that or did it go just 9.2. What something can do and has done are two different things.

An "N/A" 99-04? That's fairly vague. There are some pretty fast N/A 99-04's, even with just bolt-ons and traction, if you're leaving it that open.

http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php?resultpage=3&carmodel=270&data1=1999&o p1=>=&data2=1000&op2=<=&search2=et&days=10000000&s tock=1&resultsperpage=10&carmake=15

There are a handfull on dragtimes.

Like I said my 04 GT with an auto went 14.5s stock and it was 90* that day. In better conditions and with a 5 spd don't tell me you won't pick up a few tenths.

No, it was a stock '01 GT w/ 3.27's. That's not even one of the better times for a stock one. MM&FF editor Evan Smith went 13.7 in a stock '99-04 GT. Obviously, he's FAR, FAR better than your average driver (he went 12.9 in a stock LS1 F-body in horrible heat, 12.4 in a stock '03-'04 Cobra, etc), but they're DEFINITELY capable of low 14's.

BTW, the '01 Bullitts have 3.27's like the "regular" GT's. BTW, with just catback and in 90* weather, our Bullitt went 14.2@100 w/ a crappy 2.2 60'.

An n/a with Patriots and cams, long tubes and some gears would run real good.....I live 10 minutes from Summit Racing and one of their best sellers is a cat back for mustang. Thats what a lot of folks do. Filter, exhaust and a programmer. Solid 14.o @100mph. Non n/a would obiviously be nitrous, charger or turbo.....then you start talking 331,347...and bigger. A 10 second Evo is a fast street car. A 4 second anything is quick.

Bullit is one of the best specialty Stangs ever. My bad on the 3,73...was it an option?

i meant to type 14 sec....

The 3.73 I believe is standard on the NEW Bullitts (S197), but 3.27's were the only option for '01 Bullitts.

As far as N/A '99-04's go, there's a guy in SoCal that's just running bolt-ons, a little suspension, and good tires running ~12.6 or so. No heads, no cams, no high compression... and that's going to beat 98% of SS/SC's on this site.

It's going to take a SERIOUS SS/SC to pass an All-out N/A 99-04 GT at half track.

'99-'04 Mustang GT's are a low 14 second car with a good driver........in fact, their 1/4 mile times and mph (98-99 mph) are pretty much identical to the SS/SC. Anybody not willing to accept that is either uneducated about Mustangs, or is in denial.

Yes a 99-04 GT is a low 14 second car with competant driver. With a GOOD/great driver they break high 13s. But there are a lot of NDFS's out there.

and JimzSS, if you were trying to say you have went faster than me.....i now run 8.66 on motor and 7.9 on juice....with a cold bottle

I think its safe to say, according to the timeslip thread....there is 1 cobalt on this site faster than my car.

I would say that a high 13 takes a very experienced driver, most good drivers can pull low 14s. It also depends on where you race too.

What size shot you running? 100?

There's no driver mod here, we're both auto transmissions. Anyways, we'll see what happens at the track this Sunday, hope I can get video.
