Any car has potential if you have the money. I personally love my SS cobalt. Its not the supercharged one but the 2.4 and its plenty fast, a low 15 second car right out of the factory if driven right. With just boltons and a tune they are almost as fast as the SC model and it still be cheaper. LS can be done also, just need more boltons and maybe some spray if u dont want to spend all that money on a turbo or a supercharger

The thing that i found about the cobalt is that if you take most of the bolt ons from the 2.4, such as header/dp/catback, Intake mani, and throttle body. They are pretty much even cars. The only real advantage i see from the 2.4 is that they have stronger internals, so with a stock engine can run more boost.

Correct me if im wrong.

stronger internals higher compression on the 2.4 and more displacement.. also the 2.2 doesn't have vvt they're very different engines lol the 2.2 is actually closer to being a 2.0 then a 2.4..

And so i put a new muffler hehe a corvette muffler at that. It sounds pretty mean. I'm debating if i should take the resonator off or not. besides that..nothing new yet. Ordered the K&N filter and still researching on my turbo. I have like after getting those 2 i have like 3 k left to go ahead and put into my baby. What shall the next step be?

haha yea i plan **** out ..

buy my stock 16" rims ( they're the ones on the special edition) be even more sleeper..

get coilovers.. upgrade the front rotors ( you could do a big brake kit, but it's not necessary depending how mow much you're looking at pushing i'd recommend it though) and internals pistons and rods are giong to be like 400 each not including install

I like the way my LS looks and everything but as from all the car drivers in my area...there point of view is its just a waste of time trying to get it as good as the SS. I however think they are wrong and can make my cobalt a monster. So far all i got is red racing strips ( woooohoo ) that my grandfather got for me as a gift for my car. ( cheap bastard wouldnt get me my air intake ) So as of now. The only thing i can think of is getting my air intake ( and i'm thinking K&N ) and getting my exhaust done. From there i'm at a lost as of where to go. I in the long run want to put a turbo in..maybe even twin if it can handle it. My question is..is it really worth the trouble trying to upgrade my lovely Cobalt??
Wow, Exactly the same situation that i'm in!
i have a black manual 07 cobalt LT, stock at the moment but i hope that wont be for long. I too hope to drop a turbo in there in the future, but my dream would be a ProCharger [if ProCharger made some for the 2.2 eco] As of now im thinkning of getting an Injen cool air intake [or K&N] and an exhaust but im not sure on what to get there because im not sure if the 05-06 parts also work for 07's. Also, ive heard that the 2.2 needs to have forged pistons and hearders and new internals but dont know exactly what... if anyone knows, thatd be really helpful

muhahaha .. i has procharger (well i have the blower i'm getting together parts) there's a 2.2 ion that was procharged.. if you look at speed mafia performance.. there a vendor on here they have a procharger kit for the 2.2 ion.. basically the same but there are a few changes with the bracket and piping not to mention you'll need a maf section.. one of the members on here had a 2.0 balt prochaged as well .. he makes kits for the balt.. look up chevytech on here

damn thats sweet
actually i just saw a video on youtube where i think theres a procharged cobalt but im not 100% on that it just says procharged 2.2 ecotec. how much did your set up cost? my dream would be the intercooled procharger, but im guessing theyre expensive and might need stronger internals. its either that or wait a couple of years and get and procharge an 05 or 06 GTO haha

i got my kit used from chevy tech for a low low price lol .. new they run around 3800 for an intercooled kit

long as you're not pushing much over 200 internals should be fine... but stronger internals wouldn't hurt

hmmm... still expensive for my budget but not as much as i originally thought
either way i would like to get internals out of the way before starting put stuff in, thing is im having problems trying to find forged pistons and idk what else i would have to swap out.plus i dont know if the 05-06 aftermarket parts are compatible with the 07's
