Cobalt ss vs. Mazdaspeed3

I used to think the cobalt ss was god. That was until I saw the mazdaspeed3. This car is insane. It is faster than the ss and is just alot nicer. You get so much more for the price. I love the cobalt ss sc but the mazdaspeed just stole my heart.

^^Agreed, Hatch FTL. Does this thread seem a little off to anyone else but me? I'm not so sure I would go to a Cobalt forum and talk about how a Mazda stole my heart?

If it wasnt a hatch I would probably own one. But my SS is too sexy. Just needs to go faster

they are cool cars, but i still love mine, and i dont like hatches that much. i like cars with the low end torque those mazdas get from direct injection. i want to see how well the cobalt does with the 2.0 DI turbo motor in the solstice gxp and sky redline

??? it's already got forged internals...

they're making some serious aftermarket HP already, some at 300+whp...you do that to a Cobalt and a lot of stuff starts to break.

MS3 FTW

i think he's talking about the boost being fairly high stock, and with 9.5:1 compression you can't boost as much as evo's and sti's safely, well unless tuners can tune direct injection to cool off the combustion chamber temperature by a good amount.. maybe i'm wrong about everything... but i posted my thoughts anyway...

It sounds to me like he was commenting that the MS3's motor is restricted alot more from the factory than the LSJ. I.E. responds to mods better.

they have a decent amount of non-boost related mods that do a lot for that car. larger IC's, piggyback ECU thing, even intake and exhaust do well on the car, their aftermarket rear motor mount helps put more power down. i've been on their forums for a while now and it's pretty impressive that they're not messing with the boost too much to get decent gains.

They may be faster and have a nicer interior but if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times.... FAST DOES NOT FIX UGLY!!! And the Mazda 3 has ugly to spair.
