Question Comfort opinions from guys/gals who have driven non stop 800+ miles..

I'm getting close to deciding what my next car ( 4 on list ) will be, come winter we'll be heading south for the winter and I'll be driving 1000 miles non stop. The two cars here I'm looking at are the SS/SC, SSna, the SS/SC has leather seats ( which I like ) and the SSna comes standard with cloth seats...if you have a SSna please let me know if you have leather or cloth seats.

Thanks,
Al

It has less to do with the seats and more to do with the suspension. SS/NA has a softer ride... while still being "sporty"... SS/SC has a harder ride that screams "sports car"

Also... the heated leather seats in the SS/NA would be nice for that long winter drive.

Mileage

I make about a 600 mile trip about every 3 months to Arkansas from Oxford, Alabama. We usually take the wifes Yukon but the last time we took the ss/sc. I have no bitches about riding that far in this car. It was comfortable and had a lot of fun on I-20.

For me it has more to do with the seats then the suspension ( at least for these two cars anyways ), the heated seats mean nothing to me, we'll leave in plenty of time to avoid needing to turn the heat on.

I'm thinking the SS/SC would be fine for the long haul, I'm not so sure about the cloth seats in the SSna though....also, it pisses me off that you need to order the 7 Speaker Pioneer Amplified Sound system with these seats....what the hell does a sound system have to do with leather seats?

I don't think the system has anything to do with the seats is just that some companies put things together to sell more of them. Like some of the SS/SC have packages with onstar or satelite radios. Its just so they can sell more of the different things. I'm not sure if this helps or not...

my ss/sc rides so smooth its ridiculous...not sure what you are talking about here...

edit: the sound system (7 speaker) is stock in the ss/sc...although you may not find it...necessary? its a great sound system and my car hits harder than some of my friends with aftermarket systems in their car...its funny.

If I was buying a car for good Gas Mileage and a nice comfortable ride. I would get the 2.4L SS with Heated leather seats. If I wanted a car to put around in the city and drive aggressively with, Id get the SS S/C.

My friend and I drove from Phoenix, Az to Hemet, Ca (~300 mi. outside of L.A.) in mine and we had no troubles with the comfort.

You can adjust the lumbar suport on the driver side, but I'm not sure on the passenger side. This is also with the stock SS S/C seats. I don't think the Recaros are adjustable for the lumbar.

The SS/SC seats are *much* more comfortable than the cloth seats in the LS, imho. Plus, although the suspension is stiff, it does a good job soaking up bumps. It's a very smooth highway car, I love it. My longest trip so far as only been about 100 miles, but I know I'd be comfortable in there for any amount of time.

My SS/NA is very comfortable as well. I really don't think there is a difference in the suspension between the SS/SC and the SS/NA is there?? The SS/NA does come with a sport suspension.

Mine also has the heated leather seats and the 7 speaker pioneer sound system.

I have a SS N/A with cloth seats (I didn't want leather). I think they're very comfortable.

Appearance wise, though, I miss having the leather accents on the door panels. They look much nicer than cloth.

the setup in the SC is more aggressive and lower than that in the NA. the NA is still more "sporty" than the LS and LT.

I have the 2.4 SS with cloth and it's very comfortable. i didn't want the leather as i get tired of burning my butt in my 3 series in florida weather.

I've got a ss/na with cloth seats. I find that they are pretty comfy, but that the side bolsters kinda give me sore shoulders. That was after about 800 miles of a 1500 mile trip.
