Contemplating a S/C or T/C

I have a LS right now thats all stock except the muffler. I only own 5000 and thats about what its worth. Has little over 60k miles. Since I see some SS's going for around 13-16k, I figure the jump isn't bad if the miles are low. My payments now are 300. Anyway I wasn't sure which was the best bet for me. No dealership around me has either of them, but when they come in stock im going to try a look.

I dont know too much about cars, but trying to figure some stuff out so dont flame me for being noobish. I know the T/C is quicker, however I do like the whine the S/C makes. Anyone give me some info about both, and how it compares to my crap LS?

They're notably superior vehicles to the LS... you'll enjoy convenience features such as power everything, likely a sunroof, improved stereo, styling of course... etc. Also in addition to the increased power you have superior braking and handling. Is your LS manual? You'll need to know how to drive stick unless you want to learn on your SC or TC, both clutches are tricky.

I was going to raffle off my SS/SC but until I hear back from a admin or Erod I dont know. Maybe you would of got lucky and won mine! WOO

No really though, Reign the master and owner of our souls said I'm still allowed to sell mine on the site. You could buy mine

Mine only has 9k miles on it. asking 14,500 and willing to work with the price.

Just something else to consider. I really want a challenger...but I can't afford that for sure. If I had to go up in price though, I would look at lower miles. Would want it to last at least.

A used SC is the best bang for the buck . Get one for 13-14K and throw stage 2 on it . Then its a drivers race compared to the 22-24K TC.

stage 2 costs about 550 if i'm not mistaken. stock ss/sc has 205 hp. with the stage 2 you would be around 230. plus or minus some

ss/tc is a better motor/car in my opinion, but the ss/sc is still a mighty fine vehicle, and upgrading from an LS either car will make you very happy.

Stage 2 bumps power to 245hp over the stock 205 hp rating, however the ss/sc are underrated from the factory so most put around 225-230 to the wheels, stock SS/TC' are around 240 at the wheels

if you can afford it get the ss/tc. no question. if you are going to struggle and stress about payments as high as they would be for a new ss/tc. get a ss/sc and get some mods, the right mods will deliver 13s and maintain reliability

I really not mechanically inclined enough to do those types of mods. And dont know if I would risk a newer vehicle trying to learn.

I think I could go as high as 18k if needed be..but you know.

oh its all abou #'s!!!!!!

go drive the fucken things, and you tell us!

but for the price... a used s/c is a great route....oh and you dont get the major depreciation. see the new TC owners love their cars. In 3 4 years, their 6 grand negative equity will keep them loving their cars for another 4 years... all that... for a turbo. Of course, thats buying new. Something I DONT do with American vehicles annnyyyy more.

ss/tc if you ca afford it, But a ss/sc with stage 2 is just as nice and just as fast but its cheaper. The big thing with the ss/tc is if you want to build a monster its a better starting point

Advantages for used SS/SC

Auto trader 11,000 to 13,000 within 500miles of my Zip 98674.
1. Payment about 200 to 250 per month.
2. Less insurance since less value.
3. Take the money savings and buy bolt on options. buy as money is available
4. Buy the car with add on turbo kit added into the price thus paying for the package over 5yrs. Hp ie: Rebel turbo kit 325Hp to 350hp and about 28MPG Low to Mid 12's

Well i say buy a ss/sc and install GM stage 2 and it will give you around 245hp, And you wont be 23k in debt. I only paid 10k for my 05 ss/sc with 40,000 miles

40k is to much for me. I put roughly 16-20k a year into my car. its a 25 mile drive to work, and a 25 mile drive to school...so roughly 100 miles 3-4 days out of the week.

I do see 1 orange one with 9k miles for 11k...but its not from a dealership and makes me whtink why its cheaper then the rest.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=27

like this one...wonder why its cheaper then the rest at that mileage.

Sounds to me like something wrong with it. 11k for a 9k mile car is seriously strange. Its worth checking out though I guess. I have my car listed at 14,500 but I'm willing to debate about price. Not to mention mine already is putting down good numbers with bolt ons. Not to mention mine also has 9k miles. Do the math:

pay 11k for that one or pay 14k for mine.

Exedy stage III clutch flywheel = 1200 dollars + install cost
Stage II 500-700 + install cost
GMP Toruing Exhaust 350-450 +install
BM short throw 100-150 +install
ZZP downpipe high flow cat 200-300 +install
GMP manifold 150-200 +install

Mine has been garage kept and never seen winter. 1 owner and oil changed 4 times already. Thats right guys, you should change oil every 3k miles or every few months even if you don't drive it.

Just go check it out, Since its at a dealer they may have had it for 3 or 4 months and they are getting ready to take it to auction and they know they will lose money on it there so they will some down alot .

The dealer that had mine gave a guy $12,500 trade in 5 months ago for a caliber srt4, We bought it 1 week before they where taking it to the auction just to get it of their lot so they come down to $9100 just to sell it but after taxes and doc fees i paid like $10,030. Then i noticed the little window sticker they put in the window shows they started the price at $14,999, I lol'd

Its truly a buyers market right now.
