Very true. After taxes, tags and everything the 11k car could end up being 12k or more. The same goes for my car. Even so, cheaper is not always better. Not to mention my car gets driven a few miles a week. It doesnt sit in the weather and not get driven. That is so bad for cars just to sit. Just my .02

I am considering his. Just alot of stuff got to be done. Like selling mine, getting the auto loan to pay for his, figuring out how to get it. Either by shipping...though my dad doens't work right now so he might also be able to fly there and drive it back.

Going off what others have stated, his car should have around 245 HP correct?

I had an '06 LS, and I found my '05 SS S/C not too far away. It had less miles (LS had 65k/SS had 58k) but was a year older. I was a decent find. They wanted 14k for it. I got it for 13k. Not bad for me. My payments are just under 200 a month.

It was totally worth it. I will say that the LNF engine is a better engine, but I really like the LSJ. I say look for the best deal, you can get a lot of horses out of the LSJ with the GM Stage 2 kit, or make a custom kit to crank just a few more horses out of it. As far as I know there is a better aftermarket selection for the LSJ engine just because they've been out longer.

Rally's car is prolly the best buy your going to find when it comes to mileage and performance to money ratio. AS fast or a bit faster than a stock TC and alot cheaper . Going to the trouble to sell your car and making the trip up to get it would definitely be worth it. It has all the upgrades most people end up doing, so you will be saving money in the long run. The clutch alone makes the car worth it , thats alot of money to buy and have installed. I don't know rally, so this isn't a sales pitch, just some advise . If i didn't buy my car new and had waited , rally's wouldn't be for sale..... it'd be in my garage.

I'm 100% sure the car would love driving from here to your house. I'm also 100% and sure he would make it with out a single problem other then the cops if he doesn't keep his foot out of the throttle

As for hp, I think 260 would be higher then truth. Throw a injen or 3" RAW CAI on it, and a tune and then 260 would not be a stretch. The clutch/flywheel really make this car nice for the mods.

People with the SS/TC are going to tell you to buy the turbo. People with the SS/SC are going to tell you to buy the supercharged model. It's all in what you want. The SS/SC sounds a hell of a lot better and has some good aftermarket support, so you can make it a pretty fast car. The SS/TC is easier to make quicker, but either car would be a nice change from the LS. Let us know how you make out.

Of course I will.

Edit: Well apparently I can't any money from my 401k to pay off my current car...so how does one normally sell a car they still owe on...

I have no idea what that means...

checked out the dealerships today, none even had a cobalt in stock except 1 which was red and 35k miles at 15.5k.

Then went to dodge to look at the challengers...one day...if ordered one I could probably get it at 500 a month but still to much...so right now I think best bet is trying to get rally's...but can't do nothing without getting rid of mine first.

Speaking from experience...if you are going to buy any kind of sport compact car you are better off getting it new. Besides you are going to get better finacing, you don't know what the person before you did with it. I made the mistake of getting a "great deal" on an 02 WRX a few years ago and had nothing but problems. I'm not saying you can't get a good used car but to me it seems like you are rolling the dice especially with a used SS. Understand these cars are priced toward a younger crowd meaning it is more likely at some point someone beat the **** out of it to some degree or modified it at some point that may cause you problems down the road. I would NEVER EVER even consider getting another used manual. There are too many ******** that learned stick on the car, powershifted, missed shifts, rode the clutch, ect. It doesn't even matter if you are getting a warranty on the used side. Picture if the car was abused and needs major work...you might have a warranty but is it worth not having a car while it is fixed and trying to find rides to school, work, ect. Idk, I've just had bad experiences with used cars and I don't want to see you get fucked like I did.

Its true, but then again, buying new isn't always the option. None of the car dealers around me (2 different cities) had new cars there. You had to order...and I havn't done to much research, but from others I hear ordering alone takes a few months...

not showing up on their site...

I think 22k is probably a little too pricey for me atm anyway. Maybe if I could get the private trade value of my car, but I dont think I will. I see others sell theirs for 4-6k with only 40k miles. Mine has 61k..new wheels and HU, new leather seats...but still. Id do a new car if I could get trade value for mine, and I would do Rally's if I could sell it...this sucks lol.

Well, went to the dealership to look at their black TC and I was impressed. Had all the options and MSRP at 25k, but after some rebates/coupons blah blah it was 19k. He original said my trade was 4k and when I said im not happy and asked how much if I put stock stuff back in, he told me 5k..then when doing math said 5.5k...I dont know what to think of that.

But at 72 months with 2000 down and 500 from car it was 345 per month. I can do that. I didn't like 72 months but 60 months was 460 or so.

I need to ask, if I do 72 months and get it paid off in 60, will I still of paid the total of the 72 months? Cause I might go 72 and pay more when I can instead of being forced to pay.

If I can get this for 19k and 5.5k for my car...sorry Rally but I think id take the 6 mile TC.

I think you will pay the same weather you pay it off in 3 months or 72, Could be wrong though...
