Dealer Charged me for something they didn't do

Nah, I got the real stuff. The place I went to was not dealing with the dealership. The stuff I got was brownish and runny, Texaco brand. My family has used this place for all of our cars all the way back to the 60's without our cars rusting. This place was the real deal. I watched the entire process.
I was also offered rustproofing but declined. On all my previous cars I would take it to Krown once a year and have it fully sprayed where you can actually WATCH them doing it. No matter how good they make the steel, IT WILL RUST eventually, as well as the underbody. My 99 cavalier Z24 that I bought used the bottoms of the doors were rusted on the inside BAD. If I had of protected it, it never would have happened. The metal "lip" at teh bottom of the doors is very thin on the cobalt. Guaranteed after a year, it will start to bubble down there. The first thing I did the day I got the car was shoot some rust check in the holes down there and sprayed it like a bat out of hell. If you want to keep the underside of your car looking good, at minimum rustproof that. 100 bucks a year is cheap insurance.

I payed about US$699 to have the fabric protect, paint protect, and rust proofing done at my local dealership. The fabric protect was a nice option, scotchguarded seats and a 6yr/100,000mi stain warranty where they will get any stain (except for blood and fruit juice) or it will be replaced. The paint protect they said they put somekind of silicone sealant on the paint and backed it up with a limited 10yr/100k mile warranty against fading or any general clearcoat defects except for acid rain. Now the rustproofing pissed me off, they just sprayed some kind of shitty undercoating all over the undercarriage, like a tan jelly crap. They also made sure they got it all over my exhaust so that as I left the dealership in my "brand new" car it was billowing smoke down the highway. Then I get home and open up the hood, there's undercoating splattered all over the underside of the hood, all over the inside of the fenders, and all over my motor/tranny for even more smoking goodness. Waste of my money.
Yes.. getting yoru car serviced is simply more harm than good these days! I am not letting anybody touch my car anymoer unless it's something I absolutely need done and am incapable of doing it myself. I saved for several years to buy the car and it represents a big chunk of 'life savings'. I demand it gets treated with the same respect I give it. You just can't trust anybody to do that these days. It really helps if you know somebody at a garage or dealership to ensure your car gets treated properly.

I got the same thing done except for the underside. It's called Simoniz System 5... basicalyy it's a teflon coating that gets embedded into the paint.. and you can not wax the car after this is done... the teflon coating on the paint acts like a permenant wax.. also the interior was done.. which was nice because i have never had leather seats before and i didn't want to ruin them. Plus having a black car they said i should definately do it because the teflon coating also protects against bird crap, acid, blah blah... only cost $325...
