differences ?
What is the main difference between the LS and LT. I have never really understood why there are two models, they both look almost the same to me, even when you do get an LS with extra features... Is there something i am missing?
Thanks.
Thanks.
same exact 2.2 L61
although there ARE differences between the 05-early 06 and late 06-07 models.
i think the 07 and some 06's have the LSJ header (+2 hp?) and SAI (which is kind of a pain in the ass when purchasing an intake... although you can remove it if needed, few get a CEL but most dont.)
also, there are levels of the LT, the lt1, lt2, and lt3 i *BELIEVE* dont quote me on this stuff, and i think the lt3 has disc brakes in rear and 5 lug, the others, including the LS have rear drum brakes with 4 lugs.

Off the top of my head for '08, the following aren't available in the LS: cruise, OnStar, no six-disc changer as an option, no fogs, no keyless entry, no sunroof, and a biggie: no power/adjustable windows. 15 inch wheels... that's all I got.
Which is now called the sport, so more specifically:
front disc/rear drum - standard on LS/1LT
front disc/rear drum with ABS - optional on LS/1LT, standard on 2LT
four-wheel disc with ABS - standard on Sport and there's Brembos or whatever they're called on SS/TC
Alot of people say ABS is teh ghey so if it comes down to brakes at all, don't think ABS is necessary.

^^ Yeah I've read threads on here about people going out of there way to disable traction control and ABS... so whatever. Stabilitrak is something different, but I've got basic ABS and TC on my Cav and while they aren't sensational in the snow, I wouldn't consider disabling them.
i have no ABS, after a few close calls (losing control, skidding to a stop) you learn how not to slam your foot on the brakes and i haven't locked them up for a while now. its just something to get used to, really. but if i could go back and buy my cobalt again, i would get ABS.
