Great info! I'm still running mine on full soft. Haven't had time to fine-tune suspension due to more pressing issues at the track like overheating :/

we only started this a few months ago. If you would like some isolator material just email Tom at crate engine depot or gloria at powell raceparts (depending where you purchased them) and we will send you some free of charge. Or you can try my spray solution. Either way. I dont have the noise on my car and dont wrap them. Its weird. It for sure is the dead coils if you have a noise from the spring all being equal with a correct installation procedure.

I will say this.... if you install the springs a certain way, you may end up with clunk. I had all my dead coils wrapped with tein silencers and I still had a rear passenger side clunk. I checked the twist beam axle bushings and they checked to be ok, so I decided to look at spring orientation. My passenger side rear spring was turned slightly different in the perch from the drivers side. I turned it to match, and haven't had a clunk since.

I had what Staged did with my pedders ... only with a passenger in the car though. Never really cared too much since i rarely have anyone else in the car with me. But good to know.

The silencers that CED has i installed yesterday and the clunk is gone. Have not tested it with a passenger though.

I don't have any clunks on my yyz springs. I put dead coils on the bottom, I noticed some guys put dead coils on the top and have clunks there. Maybe I'm wrong...Possibly I have a DEAF car! LMAO!

Dead coils should be up....

Here's what Powell said about it a while back:

"it matters when the springs fall out. The dead coils are designed to keep the spring in place when the twisting beam rebounds (droop) and the spring will try and often does pop out of the top spring locator nipple. The lower spring seat is easy, gravity keeps it in, but the top is the problem. As the CM spring loses rate over time, eventually the dead coils have insufficient spring rate to keep the spring in place over bumps when the beam drops down, and the spring can fall out.

so. dead coils up."

but since YYZ's aren't supposed to loose rate, I guess it doesn't matter.

I found spring orientation in the spring seat can cause a clunk sound as well.

That's weird...I put on 1,400 miles trip on it. I had no problems with dead coil down on my car the whole trip and working like it should.

Stock cams.

I believe he said it makes 305 on pump and 320ish on race gas.

Check the spring orientation in the spring seats. Try to match the drivers and passenger side.
