electronic throttle limited traction
It's torque management. There is an option to turn it on/off when you do a tune.
Q: What is Torque Management?
A: This feature was designed to extend the service life of automatic transmissions by removing a certain amount of timing advance temporarily before beginning the shift between gears. The effect is there is less wear and tear on the transmission because not as much power is being run through the transmission while the clutches and bands are engaging/disengaging.
However, TM also reduces performance, and removing it, especially in the trucks, can produce a noticible improvement in performance. Trifecta Perfomance can adjust or eliminate the torque management in your 99+ Gen III PCM programming. Just let us know on the ordering form if you'd like it adjusted or removed completely.

i talked to vince today, and he said that torque management DOES NOT cause this, and he strongly recommended that i did not turn it off because it would tear up my transmission with all the extra power im making right now. however, he said that he might have an idea what i was talking about with the power cutting out when the tires spin. he sent me an updated tune, and it was fixed. i tested it out by spinning my wheels up to 80

i doubt TQ management is saving your trans. he just needs to adjust shift times and pressures so its a bit quicker.
Quicker shift = less clutch slipping
i like to see how fast the speedo climbs in the snow
