I'm not sayin' I wouldn't be pissed off as well...hell I had some dude kick my Cavy right in front of me which left a nice dent in the side and I STILL didn't pound his face in! Not worth wasting my time on...besides I had to get home 'cause I had a dent to pull .

Hopefully this is the end of things since I can only see it getting progressively worse if that's not the case.

This is my way of thinking of it. A car and his owner is like a man and his dog. If the man comes over and kicks your dog are you going to go over and kick his? No. You go over and talk to the guy and if he doesn't understand with words you make him understand maybe not physically but make sure he knows not to do it again. If you go back over and kick his dog you're only hurting the dog, you have to make the owner know when he touches your **** he's going to be the one who pays.

Wow... I totally agree with WSFrazier, Alleycat, DC, and everyone else that thinks you pulled a childish move here. Way to go kid.

I've had my cars keyed, scratched, dented, and plain smashed in. I've NEVER wanted to go damage someone's car for revenge... even when I knew who did it. Now... I have a bad temper when it comes to this stuff, so I will say that I've wanted to confront them, maybe even start a little rumble. But I have never wanted to stoop to their level and damage their property.

All you did was provoke this kid and challenge him to one-up you once again. You've angered him... probably more than he angered you. At least if you confront them, you can maybe scare them into thinking that touching your car isn't in their best interest. Confronting him will at least make him realize that you know who did it, and if it happens again you'll have a damn good idea who did it. Then he'd be afraid to touch it for two reasons: 1) he might have to deal with you and/or your particularly muscular friend from the gym, 2) he might have criminal charges pressed against him if he does it again and you catch him.

All I have to say is congratulations. You've now dropped yourself to his level of maturity by showing just as much disrespect for another person's property. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you the newest car-keying douchebag in this world: slick54.

if you wanted to pay him pay, make him pay with $$ and charge him with a crime, he admitted to it, first thing i would've done is called the cops right in front of him, then in the future if more **** happens to ur car you already have the cops on your side

I bet whoopin his ass or whatever you did at the time felt good, but its probably going to suck in the long run

some 40 year old men could be guilty of this. there are men whos daughters get raped, that go back and kill the rapest themselves(they never regret it either). is that right? of course not, there were better ways to handle it. look at the cobalt like his daughter, many of you can relate.
If there wasn't enough evidence to go to the police, then there wasn't enough evidence to key the guy's car. I've seen so much drama come about because of **** like that. Guess what? People lie. People want to see fights. How the hell do you think Jerry Springer makes his money? Especially when you're in high school, people go around with that "I hear so-and-so said/did/wants to do something to or about you." Maybe they knew how you'd react and knew your car got keyed, so they told you this kid did it knowing full well you'd go key his. Or it might not even be that complex. Maybe another kid did it and thought you knew about it, so he said someone else did it.

Please tell me you did NOT just compare a car getting keyed to a girl getting raped.... That's just ******* rediculous. I agree tht it doesn't make it right to kill over that, but keying a car and raping a woman do not even fall remotely close to each other.

I think watching them have to get their punk ass a job and give up their hard earned money to fix what they'd done plus being able to walk out of the situation as a better person was more satisfying than anything I could have done to their car.

Like someone else said, all it's going to do is escalate the situation. Next they'll bust out a window, slash a tire, etc. That's the problem with an eye for an eye...there's no limited to how many "eyes" have to be taken before someone puts a stop to it.
Exactly.

Though I would not have keyed the car (I hateeee that more than anything when people do that ****).. I would have waited and jumped his ass and beat the **** out of him. I'm not 18 yet so I wouldn't have gotten in serious trouble. Keying cars is the most immature most homosexual thing ever.

Was just going to say the same thing regarding that post alleycat58. But I read further down and yours summed it up nicely.

Eye For An Eye? I Think Theres A Hole Lot More Going On To This Then What He Tells Us. Personally Though I Had My Sunfire Keyed When I Was 17 Found Out Who Did It. Cuz The Moron Came Back. Had A Cop That Was Neighbor Who Seen Him Do It. Arrested Him And My Parents Filed The Charge. Got My Car Repainted At His Expense. Never Touched His Car After That. This Is Why We Have Police And This Is Why We Call Them To Get A Police Report Done.

Initially i probably would've reacted the same way but never even thought of acting on it. I'm a firm believer in do unto others. You don't want your car keyed so why do it to someone elses? It takes a bigger man to have the level head, and react in an appropriate manner.

I would've tried confronting him and recording his reaction, if he admits to it, then you go right to the police and you are never implicated. Or in a calm voice just talk and ask why? Offer for him to pay for it without getting the police involved, keep it civil. That way you have less of a chance of getting fired from your job and possibly losing your car all together. Personally i'd take a key mark and still have the car, then have to ride my bike to work everyday.

But i'll tell you what i bet that Burger King parking lot was crazy when the fight broke out..."do you wan fry's wit dat?"

You broke the cardinal rule, never mess with another mans ride.

Just because he broke the rule, is no excuse to do it yourself. You have now been shunned from the automotive community. Respect for you has been severly diminished.

I highly suggest you suck up your pride and discuss w/ the other guy that you will both pay for the damage each of you has done to each others rides or the situation is probably going to get not only worse, but possibly dangerous. Doing the above will not only help alleviate the problem if he agrees to it, but it will probably help negate whatever your superiors (unless they are idiots) are thinking about you and your place at their facility.

It's good to get revenge, but I would've just confronted him and kicked his ass. Then you're completely in the right, but, hey, an eye for an eye!

What anyone has failed to ask...which I guess I will is....what did you do to get your car keyed in the first place?

I'm not going to join the crowd and call you an idiot or anything as name calling isn't any more mature than what you did.
I prefer payback also, but in the means of "mindf*ck"
Ya' know...get his g/f real drunk and then bang her on the hood of HIS car...lol j/k but I still would like to know how this "problem" came about in the first place?
Was it:
Jealousy?
Disagreements at the work place?

Whatever it is, what's done has been done and NOTHING any of us can say will change that. All I hope is that nothing more comes of it and that both of you "boys" have learned your lesson
