Sta-bil in the gas tank and a tender on the battery.

That should be all you have to do.

I would put sta-bil in the tank, and a tender will make it so you won't need to jump it

jumping isnt a threat ill probly take him to store it and pick it up lol but i thought even with sta bil it shouldnt sit a year with gas in it, and some1 said to lose the oil as well but i doubt he knows 1/2 as much as the guys on here so. also he's looking at a temp controlled garage just trying to find a good deal.

WHy dont you just start it up and drive it around once every few weeks. I dont care how much you prepare. Oil sitting stagnant on seals/gaskets is never good.

Don't drain the oil, when we get new Eaton hydraulic pumps at work we fill them with the correct oil and sit them on the shelf, when were ready to use then we drain and flush with one quart of oil then fill.

ok, i have my car in storage, as im deployed for 15 months. what you should do is put the car up on jacks, and take all but 10 psi out of the tires. either fill the fuel tank completely, or make sure it's empty. a trickle charger on the battery won't hurt. you can use fuel stabilizer if you want, and oil too. but if you have synthetic oil (its reccomended in the SS/SC's) you should be ok.

im lucky, as my parents start mine up once a week, put it in gear, and let it run for ten minutes, that way everything gets to spinning and what not. i'd reccomend starting the car as often as possible, but if you do what i stated above you should be ok. I got this info from numerous NCO's that have deployed multiple times. the car will be ok.

Frankly, I'd just have a buddy take it for a spin once a week.

Fill the tank with gas then one pour bottle of Stabil fuel in the tank, jack the car up on jack stands, disconnect the battery, cover the exhaust and put a box of arm&hammer and air freshener in the car. I did that during my year in Afghanistan and i didn't have one problem when I came back, the car smelled good and started right up.

all4glh, did you have to put a code into your radio after you plugged the battery back in?

you should at least move the car monthly as you dont wanna create bald spots on the tires

Definately get the tires off the ground especially if the floor is concrete. When rubber and concrete touch for a long time they create a chemical reaction that eats away at your tires.

that and the weight of the tires will cause balt spots that form a "memory" in the rubber of the tire. if you let it sit for a year, they most likely will get low on air, and possibly go flat. at an absolut minimum, get the car off the ground.

yeah, the dealer told me if i disconnected the battery, i would have to put a code in, or the radio would be useless. i just figured it being both GM products it might be similar.

if it's like any other thing it's probably 1234, 1111, or 0000. Unless you programmed another code.
