Gen 3 Halo Projector adjusting... :(

OK, so I have a problem. I removed the upshot metal piece from my projector housing. It was super easy, except that the screw wouldnt come out, on either side no matter how hard I tried, so I just left it in, assuming it covers the hole, and neglects the need to use muffler mener

Well I decided i was going to adjust my HID's. What I really noticed now is that I see the line on the road. NOT ONLY DO I SEE THE LINE ON TEH ROAD THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT HAVE LINES THAT DONT MEET. In other words, teh left light lights up farther down the road. I can see it on the ground. If I stand in front of that light, I can clearly see the right light doesnt go as far down the road, its practically right in front of my car. So each side goes a different distance down the road.

If I stand 50 feet away I can see my left light seems brighter then my rigth because of this.

I have 3 questions in regards to this.

1.) Should the 2 lights meet, and light an equal distance away from the car, or should the left shoot further then the right on purpose?

2.) Looking at the shot above, I assume the 2 bolts at the top of the middle light (the projector) are the adjusters right? Which bolt is for (left and right) and which is for (up and down) Also which direction would be up and which would be down?

3.) How many turns should it take to get a decent adjustment? 5 full turns, and should I see something? Can it eventually unscrew completely, and then I run into trouble?

5 turns would put your light up in the trees.. yeah the two at the bottom adjust the lights up and down and side to side.. to go up you loosin the two bolts in equal amounts. to go side to side you just turn on one side or the other to get to where you want.

whats funny is 5 turns didnt seem to do anything... I tried 5 in both directions....

so I went 5 one way, saw no difference, then went 10 the other way

5 - 0 - 5

and still saw no difference

I think the left to right I did see a difference, but thats not the one I am trying to adjust.

for up to down, should both headlights lines be at the same point?

sounds kinda like it may be stripped or somethin then. try goin 10 in one direction then to see if it starts to move. but yea you want the cutoffs to line up with each other.

so ah, just re-reading what you said

I thought

1 bolt for up and down

1 bolt for left and right

your saying both bolts are for up and down, and each one by itself is for left and right?

it makes perfect sense to me bein thats how i did mine and it only took a couple of turns tops to do it. you have to make equal amount of turns on both bolts to just go up or down. the side to side can be done with just one of the bolts.

Verified. Once I turned both bolts, I was able to get the 2 lines to match. It looks way better now. The assumption is, if you did twice as many turns on 1 bolt, you could probably get similar results. IT might not be as even the whole way across though. Do both, and it will definately take less turns, and move it up.

Took a few vids, and pics of them totally adjusted, and my LED fixed

So to go left or right would tighten the bolt or loosen it?
