Gonna buy a Cobalt SS/SC

Hi I had just a few questions, Im looking at a Cobalt SS/SC with a little over 30K for 12995. Which I think is an awesome deal, but the dealership doesn't know much about the car and, I was wondering how could I tell if it's a Stage 2? The other question is what are the major problems with the Cobalt ss/sc? Because I notice a idle was going up when I wasn't pushing the gas. Thanks alot!

I got my 06 SS/SC for 12.5k out the door with 26k miles from a chevy dealership, It was stickered at 15k though, I'm pretty sure they could tell, assuming its a Chevy dealership thats tis being sold at.

As for problems they're pretty minor, power steering and cats going bad, both which are on recall so its a free fix, People say the paint scratches easily, like on the inside trims (around the window switch and radio and so on.) but I have';t had my car long enough to tell personally

Watch out for the power steering, mine went out randomly while driving, and yes it has happened to MANY people. There was a recall on it, just make sure the dealer has replaced it.

They wouldn't even let me test drive the car untill it had its powersteering fixed, It's some liability that like, I died cause it went out

to tell if its stage 2 or not, look under the hood and the supercharger hub will have 4 blue bolts if it is stage 2. if the bolts are black its not stage 2

As far as stage two or anything.. maybe try to get pictures of the engine, the people on here can tell you if the cobalt your looking at had a owner who sneezed while changing the oil.

I think stage kits have their own, separate 100kmile warranty

if its a stock pulley it wont have any bolts at all. the stock pulley is pressed onto the SC shaft. if it has any bolts holding on the SC pulley, it has been modified

the warrenty is good until it reaches the set limits. If a car has a 100000 mile 10 yr warrenty it is good until it reaches either of those, regardless of number of owners
